Patgorski Takes from Cates

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

Over on the outer table another big pot was brewing and the board was already complete, showing {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Dan Cates checked in the cutoff and Gabe Patgorski on the button made it 175,000 to go. Cates check-raised to one million and that sent Patgorski into the think tank.

After giving it some consideration, he added "sorry guys, last minute." Patgorski then called and Cates mucked his cards, Patgorski flashed the {A-Spades} before raking in the big pot.

Yong Takes it on the Flop

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

After two limps, Phil Ivey raisedit up to 225,000 with the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Wai Kin Yong called with the {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Ivan Leow called with the {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Alan Sass also called with the {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Four players headed to the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop action checked to Yong, who bet 350,000. That managed to force out all opponents and Yong boosted his stack nicely without showdown.

Leow Starts the Day with Aces

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

Ivan Leow raised it up with the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and Alan Sass called with the {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}. On the {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop, Leow bet 200,000 into a pot of 320,000 and Sass called. The {8-Diamonds} appeared on the turn and Leow bet big, making it 475,000 to go. That was enough to force a fold from Sass, as Leow claimed the pot.

Soon after, Sass limped with the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Wai Kin Yong raised to 150,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Sass moved all in and Yong folded.

Koon Takes Over the Lead

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

Over on the outer table, in the second hand of the day, Dan Cates limped in. Gabe Patgorski raised to 200,000 and Jason Koon called on the button, as did Cates. On the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop, Cates checked and Patgorski bet 350,000. Koon moved all in and that forced both opponents out.

Soon after, Cates and Koon tangled in another pot to the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} river. Koon bet 250,000 for more than the pot and Cates was in the think tank. "Did you have your cold shower?" Koon asked, but Cates shook his head. "Ah, so you can't make your best decision yet. Gabe made a great decision with the fold earlier," Koon added. Cates took another half a minute and called.

Koon announced ten-high and Cates won the pot with {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a full house. "I had my workout," Cates added and Koon grinned back with a "ah damn, I shouldn't have bluffed then."
