Phua Shoves on Christner, Leong Folds Out Yu

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Christian Christner opened the action from middle position with a raise to 5,200 only to see Paul Phua move all-in from the small blind for 69,600 in total. Steve O'Dwyer, sitting in the big blind, looked interested but eventually gave it up and action was back on Christner.

The German player thought it over but eventually, let it go. The pair clashed again, the next orbit. This time is was Phua who was the aggressor, making it 5,500 from the cutoff, with Christner defending his big blind.

There was no betting on the {4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop or the {10-Spades} turn so Christner decided to take a stab for 13,200 on the {5-Diamonds} river, which was enough to get Phua to give it up.

Over on the other non-feature table we caught the tail end of a big pot that played out between Winfred Yu and Chan Wai Leong. The community cards were spread 3cth4djskd] with over 60,000 already in the pot and Yu was facing a Leong bet of 40,200. Yu chewed over the decision but elected to wait for a better spot and let it go.

"In Short Deck It's Okay"

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Paul Phua was all in and at risk and joked "in short deck it's okay," while he tabled the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}. He was called by Manig Loeser with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and the board came {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Phua got there on the river to double and table neighbor Dominik Nitsche joked "we Germans know the seven is always coming."

Soon after, Richard Yong was also all in and at risk, holding the {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and Steve O'Dwyer had him dominated with the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The board of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} gave Yong trips sevens and the double up for 27,600.

Leow Busts Badziakouski

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

Mikita Badziakouski was one of the shorter stacks after losing that big hand against Windfred Yu earlier and has recently become the latest casualty.

It was Ivan Leow the man driving the action, making it 5,500 to go from the cutoff, and Badziakouski moved all-in from the small blind for 37,900 in total. Loew thought it over and announced the call.

Mikita Badziakouski: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Ivan Leow: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

"Fair enough," said Badziakouski as he saw what he was up against, but lost the flip almost immediately when the flop came down {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to give Leow bottom set. The {k-Hearts} turn left the Belarusian player drawing dead and the {j-Clubs} river saw Badziakouski depart to bring the field down to 17 and shoot Leow's stack up to 130,000.

Yu Doubles With Aces; Schillhabel Busts

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Stefan Schillhabel
Stefan Schillhabel

Ivan Leow raised to 5,700 and Mikita Badziakouski three-bet on the button to 17,000. Winfred Yu four-bet all in out of the small blind for 42,700 and Leow folded, Badziakouski called.

Winfred Yu: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Mikita Badziakouski: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The board came {K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Yu doubled.

Over on the other outer table, Stefan Schillhabel took a flip with deuced in a battle big blind versus button and Manig Loeser emerged victorious with the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. One hand later, Schillhabel was forced all in for half a big blind and his {Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds} stood no chance against the {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} of Loeser. The board came {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

Registration Closed

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Richard Yong and Paul Phua were the last two players to enter to boost the field to 35 entries, which means only the top six spots will be paid.

Shortly after the registration had officially closed, Orpen Kisacikoglu jammed 10 big blinds with {Q-}{9-} and Steffen Sontheimer called with {K-}{J-} to remain ahead and reduce the field to the last 19.

Steffen Sontheimer chipped up and then opened to 4,000 from the hijack. Koray Aldemir on the button moved all in and that forced out everyone. In the last hand of the level, Aldemir got involved once more and faced Cheong Cheok Leng in the small blind.

Leng check-called a bet of 9,500 on the {K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{A-Spades}{8-Spades} river and called. Aldemir rolled over queen-jack and Leng claimed the pot with the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

Schillhabel Takes Small Pot Off Loeser

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Manig Loeser doubled through Dominik Nitsche and shortly after faced a raise to 4,500 by Stefan Schillhabel. He called out of the big blind after checking out the stack of the fellow German High Roller and checked the {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Schillhabel bet 2,200 and was called.

After the {2-Clubs} turn, both players checked and the {J-Diamonds} appeared on the river. Schillhabel made it 24,000 to go when the action had checked to him and Loeser gave it brief consideration before folding.
