After three days of starting flights, Day 2 is finally set to begin of the United States Poker Championship from Sycuan Casino.

The Mid Stake Poker Tour's (MSPT) $300,000 guaranteed tournament was smashed by the 436 entries, but only 55 will return for their shot at the title. There will be 45 players paid a minimum of $2,318 but everyone is eyeing that 1st place prize of $92,712 and the trophy that goes along with it.

Elvis Toomas (737,000) from Glendale California ran it up last night. He has more than $400,000 in recorded earnings and will be looking to add that amount with a deep run today.

Some of the other players returning are Suhail Khan (454,000), Adrian Lopez (450,000), Day 1b chip leader Patt McCool (445,000), Day 1a chip leader Jason Kapoor (395,000), Ken Baime (388,000), Sherry Hammers (336,000), Curt Kohlberg (334,000), Massoud Eskandari (304,000), and Kyna England (140,000).

Gianluca Pace (267,000), who won the Main Event here at Sycuan in January, pulled off the ole chip and a chair feat. He was left with 400 chips at one point yesterday and went on to bag big.

The blinds will resume at Level 14 at 2,000/4,000/4,000. There will be 10-minute breaks every three levels.

Keep up with all the updates here on PokerNews as a new MSPT champion is crowned.
