Reid Sets Up Sanchez

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Terence Reid
Terence Reid

Action was heads up on a board of {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Spades} with a pile of chips already in the middle from preflop action. Terence Reid checked in early position to put action onto Sergio Sanchez in the hijack, who bet 15,000. Reid thought for a bit and then check-raised to 47,000, sending Sanchez into deliberation before calling.

The turn came {2-Spades} and Reid announced he was all in. His stack was counted to be 91,000, and Sanchez went into the tank for over a minute before finding a call.

Terence Reid: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Sergio Sanchez: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Reid's set of eights needed to fade the remaining spades in the deck, and he improved to a full house on the river {10-Clubs} in the process to score the double.

Serock Gets Shot Down

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Joe Serock
Joe Serock

Ian Mangan opened the action with a raise to 7,000 in the cutoff and David Blankenship called in the small blind. Joe Serock was in the big blind and re-jammed for 55,000, with Mangan calling and Blankenship quickly folding thereafter.

Joe Serock: {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Ian Mangan: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

"Whoops," said Serock upon seeing Mangan's bullets. He picked up a backdoor wheel draw on the flop {4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and the turn {2-Hearts} gave him three direct outs to the improbable double. Unfortunately for him, none came as the river {k-Spades} completed the runout to spell his elimination.

Wyporowich Gets a Dub

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Michael Wyporowich defended his big blind versus an open from the player on the button to take action heads up to a flop of {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Wyporowich checked and his opponent continuation-bet 14,000. He check-jammed for 91,000 and his opponent thought for a bit before calling.

Michael Wyporowich: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Wyporowich's top pair was ahead of his opponent's middle pair, leaving him in need of fading the two outer to stay alive and score the double. He did just that as the turn {q-Diamonds} and river {9-Spades} completed the runout, bringing him up over 200K and leaving his opponent with dust in the process.

Three Tables Remain

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Sergio Sanchez
Sergio Sanchez

Adam Wilbur opened to 10,000 in middle position and saw action fold around to Sergio Sanchez in the big blind, who re-jammed for around 100,000. Wilbur made the call for most of his stack.

Sergio Sanchez: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Adam Wilbur: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Sanchez looked poised to make the comeback after ceding a double in the previous level to find himself short. The flop {5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Spades} and turn {10-Spades} left him just one card away from a double of his own, but the river {6-Hearts} came to spoil his efforts and earn Wilbur the pot and the knockout.

Twenty-seven players now remain with two minutes left in Level 14. Play will go for another 20 minutes or until two more eliminations occur.

Collins Runs Out of Luck; Hard Stop Reached Again

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Al Hart
Al Hart

Greg Collins found himself short after losing with ace-king to ace-nine earlier in the evening and then re-jammed his last 27,000 from the hijack over an early-position raise from Ryan Hunsinger, who called.

Greg Collins: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Ryan Hunsinger: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Collins once again had a big ace in dominating shape only to see the flop come {3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and give Hunsinger a pair of kings. The turn {4-Diamonds} brought him four more outs, but they all bricked on the river {2-Spades} and he was eliminated in 27th place.

Moments later, an announcement was then made as another elimination occurred at an adjacent table to bring the field down to 25 and reach a hard stop to end play early for the second consecutive night, this time with 33:30 remaining in Level 15 (12:30 earlier than Day 1a.)

As for the details of the elimination, a short-stacked player open-jammed for 20,000 and Dapo Ajayi re-jammed with {8-}{8-} to put the rest of the table all in. Al Hart called with {9-}{9-} and scored the knockout and more than a double on the final hand of the night. And with the won pot, Michael Wyporovich has risen to the chip lead past Ajayi to end the day with top stack.

A complete list of chip counts from the 25 to advance will be posted shortly with an end-of-day recap to follow.
