Kusnerak Gets An Elimination

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Daniel Kusnerak
Daniel Kusnerak

Vytautas Atkocaitis was under the gun and shoved all in for 365,000. A few moments later, he found himself with a shot to triple as both Daniel Kusnerak and Steven Stout called on the button and in the big blind, respectively.

With any further action going to a side pot, both players checked the flop {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}, and then Stout check-folded to a bet from Kusnerak on the turn {6-Diamonds}.

Vytautas Atkocaitis: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Daniel Kusnerak: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Atkocaitis was one card away from a triple, but the river {5-Spades} was one of the six cards he needed to fade as it gave Kusnerak a straight and sent Atkocaitis to the rail. Atkocaitis finished the tournament in 35th place, as Joey Weissman was eliminated a few hands earlier on an adjacent table.

Gutierrez Falls To Zamani

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Zach Gutierrez
Zach Gutierrez

Martin Zamani opened to 60,000 in the cutoff and Zach Gutierrez three-bet shoved for about 360,000.

"Did he say all in?" asked Zamani to the dealer, who nodded. "I call."

The dealer then was the one who did not hear fully what was said, and asked Zamani if he announced a call. "I call," said Zamani again, dropping a stack into the middle and tabling his hand with Gutierrez doing the same.

Zach Gutierrez: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Martin Zamani: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Gutierrez went from barely ahead to way behind as the flop appeared {10-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Hearts} to give Zamani a pair of queens. The turn came {7-Spades} and Zamani reached out to grab the stack of chips he previously put onto the felt for the call, and the river {7-Diamonds} came behind it to complete the runout.

With the pot, Zamani is up to 2.5 million, while Gutierrez finished the tournament in 37th place.

Froelich Gets Peppe Back

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

The dealer was in the process of counting out Randy Froelich's stack after he had just earned a double through Vic Peppe. Froelich's hand of {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} was still visible on a board of {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

Multiple sources mentioned that all of the chips went into the middle preflop, with Peppe holding {a-}{k-} under the gun and losing the coin flip versus Froelich, who was in the small blind. Current stacks now see Peppe below 200,000 while Froelich is up to 872,000.

Tanaka Takes Out Baker

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Joel Baker
Joel Baker

Joel Baker was under the gun and announced he was all in. Action folded to Satoshi Tanaka in the cutoff, who announced a call after getting a count for Baker's total of 442,000. All remaining players folded and the two were off to the races.

Joel Baker: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Satoshi Tanaka: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Baker found no help as the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and he finished in 38th place as a result, becoming the second consecutive elimination in the tournament at the expense of Tanaka, who now has

Nguyen and Lopez Toasted

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

Scott Vesilek saw action fold to him in the cutoff and opened to 52,000. Vy Nguyen was next to act on the button and three-bet shoved for around 200,000. Satoshi Tanaka announced he was all in, coming over the top in the big blind and Vesilek got out of the two players' ways.

Vy Nguyen: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Satoshi Tanaka: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Nguyen was drawing thin and the flop {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} did no more than give him a backdoor spade draw. The turn came {a-Diamonds} to leave him drawing dead and the river {j-Spades} completed the runout, resulting in his elimination from the tournament.

Also eliminated earlier was Angel Lopez, and 38 players now remain.
