Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 14th episode, Connor speaks with Brazilian poker vlogger and WPT Global ambassador Romulo Dorea, aka "Poker Profit," who talked about coming to the US to play college soccer, studying economics, discovering poker and making content in both English and Portuguese.
Romulo also shared his six principles for success in poker and talked about his life-changing trip on the WPT Voyage.
Michael Rodrigues opened to 10,000 from under the gun. He was called by Fabien Motte in middle position, but David Gomes in the next seat three-bet to 25,000. Both Rodrigues and Motte called.
On a flop of 9♠A♦2♠, Gomes continued for 35,000 and everybody check-folded.
On the next hand, Motte raised to 12,000, and Rodrigues defended from the big blind.
Both of them checked the 4♥J♦J♠ flop and the 9♥ turn. But on the K♥ river, Motte bet 15,000. Rodrigues check-called with K♣7♣ and won with two pair against A♣10♦.
On a board of 5♦J♠A♠2♥, Arnaud Mattern in middle position bet 8,000, then fired a second barrel of 28,000. Anthony Barrera in the big blind check-called on the flop, and check-called the turn.
The 6♦ completed the board. Barrera checked and heard Mattern announcing "all-in". Barrera didn't wait to fold.
After Alexandre Le Vaillant opened to 8,000 from under the gun, the player to his left and both players in the blinds called.
All four of them checked the A♥8♦A♣ flop, but on the 5♠ turn, Khelifa led out for 11,000. Alice Sicconi in the big blind folded, but Le Vaillant called, as well as the fourth player.
The 4♥ river landed on the felt and Khelifa fired a second barrel of 17,000. Le Vaillant raised to 60,000 to make his neighbor fold.
Khalifa eventually called but couldn't do much against Le Vaillant's full house with 8♥8♣.
