While Day 1a of the Main Event was on its last break, the €1,000 Pot Limit Omaha of the French Championship came to an end, here at the Pasino Grand in Aix-en-Provence.

A total of 147 entrants were recorded for this event, and after the final table on Day 2, Jérémy Palvini was crowned as the new French champion.

Even though Michael Rodrigues held 50% of the chips in play when three players remained, the WSOP bracelet winner finished in third place for €7,000. All his chips went to Hervé Gouzil, but Palvini made a comeback to claim the first-place prize of €14,500. Gouzil took home €9,700 for his second-place finish.

Full House for Ardic

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jonathan Benoit opened to 3,000 from middle position. He was called by Senol Ardic on the button and by the big blind.

Benoit continued for 5,500 on the 810A flop, but only Ardic called. Both players checked the 10 turn leading to the Q river where Benoit bet 6,000. Ardic looked at his opponent's stack and raised to force him to go all-in.

"You really have the ten?" Benoit asked. "I have a full house or nothing" Ardic answered. Benoit eventually folded the A face up. It was a good fold, as Ardic revealed Q10 for a full house.

Marza in a Tough Spot Against Michot

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Picking up the action on a board of 10264J with roughly 90,000 in the pot, the chipleader Mathias Marza in the small blind checked and saw Laurent Michot on the button moving all-in for 82,500.

Marza went deep into the tank, counting his stack again and again. "You show if I fold?" Marza asked. "I never show," Michot answered. "You have ace-king?" Marza added. "Let me check..." Michot joked, before hearing that Marza was folding.

"I don't have ace-king, I have ace-queen," Michot said while flipping over AQ. Marza showed the 10 and sent his second card into the muck.

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Three-way on a flop of 4A8, Sonny Franco under the gun bet 3,000. Jean Souprayenmestry called from the hijack, as well as Luca Delerm who was in the big blind.

All three of them checked the K turn, and the K river brought no more action.

"Queen high," Delerm said while flipping over Q9. Franco showed 54, but the pot went into Souprayenmestry's direction has he had 55 for two pair.
