Jonathan Benoit opened to 3,000 from middle position. He was called by Senol Ardic on the button and by the big blind.
Benoit continued for 5,500 on the 8♣10♥A♣ flop, but only Ardic called. Both players checked the 10♠ turn leading to the Q♥ river where Benoit bet 6,000. Ardic looked at his opponent's stack and raised to force him to go all-in.
"You really have the ten?" Benoit asked. "I have a full house or nothing" Ardic answered. Benoit eventually folded the A♦ face up. It was a good fold, as Ardic revealed Q♠10♣ for a full house.

While Day 1a of the Main Event was on its last break, the €1,000 Pot Limit Omaha of the French Championship came to an end, here at the Pasino Grand in Aix-en-Provence.
A total of 147 entrants were recorded for this event, and after the final table on Day 2, Jérémy Palvini was crowned as the new French champion.

All his chips went to Hervé Gouzil, but Palvini made a comeback to claim the first-place prize of €14,500. Gouzil took home €9,700 for his second-place finish.

Heads-up on a flop of K♦10♥4♠ with approximately 25,000 in the pot, Bruno Fitoussi in the big blind check-raised all-in for 61,000. A player in early position, who bet the flop, made the call.

Early position player: 4♣4♦
"I knew he didn't have ace-king, but a set of fours is a surprise", Fitoussi said after the 6♣Q♥ runout lead to his elimination.

After he won a very big pot against Arnaud Mattern to reach 440,000 chips, Mathias Marza opened to 3,500 from early position. The hijack then three-bet all-in for 31,600, and all the other players folded back to Marza who quickly called.
Hijack: 10♠10♣
Mathias Marza: 6♠4♥
Marza found a straight draw with the J♦7♦5♦ flop. But the 9♠6♥ runout didn't change the outcome of the hand and the hijack doubled up.
