Connor Drinan Eliminated in 3rd Place ($3,225,000)

Level 22 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Connor Drinan - 3rd Place
Connor Drinan - 3rd Place

Hand #143: Scott Seiver raised to 350,000 from the small blind and Connor Drinan called from the big. The {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop saw Seiver bet 325,000, and Drinan called to see the {Q-Clubs} turn. Seiver bet 800,000 and Drinan released.

Hand #144: Seiver raised to 250,000 from the button, Rast called from the big blind, and the flop fell {3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Rast checked, Seiver did too, and the {K-Hearts} peeled off on the turn. Two more checks brought the {3-Clubs} on the river, and Rast checked for a third time. Seiver bet 175,000 and Rast called with the {k-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a pair of kings. It was good as Seiver mucked.

Hand #145: Rast limped the small blind, Seiver checked from the big, and the flop came down {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Rast bet 160,000 and Seiver folded.

Hand #146: Rast raised to 250,000 from the button, Drinan moved all in from the big blind for 3,120,000 and Rast called.

Rast: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Drinan: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Seiver's eights had just crippled Rast, and now it looked as if the snowman would do him in. The {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop didn't change a thing, but the {8-Hearts} turn sure as did! Rast spiked a full house, and just like that Drinan went from a massive favorite to knocking on elimination's door. The {K-Diamonds} river proved to be the final nine in Drinan's coffin, and he had to settle for third place and $3,225,000 in prize money.

"Poker is all skill," Seiver joked after the hand.

Seiver Sucks Out to Double

Level 22 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #142: Brian Rast limped from the small blind, Scott Seiver raised to 420,000 from the big blind, Rast reraised to 1,130,000, Seiver tanked for nearly 90 seconds before reraising all in for 7,195,000 and Rast snap called.

Rast: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Seiver: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The flop came down {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, giving Seiver a set of eights to take the lead. The {4-Spades} turn gave Rast a flush draw, but the {2-Hearts} river was no help, locking up the double for Seiver.

Drinan called and then checked for a third time on the {7-Clubs} river. Rast slid out approximately 3 million, and Drinan snap-called off his stack. Hand #135: Seiver raised to 250,000 from the button, Rast called from the big blind, and the flop came down {3-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Rast checked, Seiver bet, and Rast quickly folded.

When the {7-Hearts} paired the board on the turn, Rast led out for 550,000 and Seiver called to see the {3-Diamonds} river.

Rast bet again, this time 1.05 million, and Seiver snap-folded.

Hand #137: Seiver limp from the small blind, Drinan checked his option from the big blind, and the flop came down {4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Seiver check-called a bet of 185,000 and then check-called one of 250,000 on the {2-Diamonds} turn. When the {a-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Seiver checked for a third time and Drinan bet 500,000. Seiver thought long and hard before dropping in a call. Drinan tabled the {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and it was good as Seiver rapped the table and mucked his hand.
