Welcome to Day 1 of the 2020 SCOOP-74-H: $10,300 NLHE Main Event
For the 12th time, the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) will crown a champion in one of the most-prestigious online poker tournaments of the year.
The SCOOP-74-H: $10,300 NLHE [8-Max, Main Event] comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000 and the defending champion is Gianluca "Tankanza" Speranza, who has done the unthinkable and won the event in the previous two years.
The Vienna-based Italian defeated a field of 654 entries in 2018 and came out on top of a heads-up battle with Julian "nailuj90" Stuer, the final table then also featured such big names as Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen, Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker, Niklas "Lena900" Åstedt, Kilian "caaaaamel" Kramer, and James "JayP-AA" Park.
One year later, Speranza made the final table once more in a field of 662 entries. Again he had to battle through big names such as Dinesh “NastyMinder” Alt, Francisco “Tomatee” Benitez, Nick “caecilius” Petrangelo, and Preben “prebz” Stokkan. Stuer was there once more and had to settle for 5th place. In heads-up, Speranza cut a deal with Ihar "OMGitshunt" Soika and scored the next seven-figure payday on the virtual felt.
