Belarus-based grinder "IgamiI€120" helped themselves to the largest score of the 2024 PokerStars WCOOP so far, one worth an impressive $189,477. The $10,300 NLHE Super Tuesday High Roller champion could have won an even larger prize, but they struck a heads-up deal with Brazilian sensation Rodrigo "SELOUAN1991" Selouan.

As you would expect, the final table was a star-studded affair. The likes of Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, Artur "mararthur1" Martirosian, and the third-place finisher Ole "wizowizo" Schemion were present and correct.

Team peace&loove Claim Top Spot in the WCOOP League

Team peace&loove
Team peace&loove

The 2024 PokerStars WCOOP League has new leaders following some impressive results on September 11. After starting the day in second place, 25 points behind Fintan Hand's Team easywithaces, Sebastian Huber's Team peace&loove accumulated 235 points, propelling them to the top of the league; they also became the first team to break through 1,000 points.

Team peace&loove's huge points tally mainly stemmed from a pair of results in the $55 NLHE Deep Stack and the $320 NLHE Deep Stack. In the former, "king153246," the team member who secured their place on the team via the WCOOP Boot Camp promotion, navigated their way through almost all of the 4,865 entrants. They ultimately chopped when heads-up against Brazil's "calcinha92," earning $28,278 and a ton of WCOOP League points.

While "king153246" was busy in the $55 buy-in event, Brazilian "tgrigoletti" was making their way to the final table. They busted in fifth place for a $9,391 addition to their bankroll and another chunk of points for Team peace&loove.

  • Team peace&loove – 1,000 points
  • Team easywithaces – 925 points
  • Team AAkkari – 865 points
  • Team tonkaaaa – 765 points
  • Team L. Veldhuis – 655 points
  • Team Spraggy – 270 points

It might only be the first week, but Lex "L. Veldhuis" has won his first WCOOP title. The battleground was WCOOP 09-H: $5,200 NLHE [Bounty Builder Super High Roller], where the 89 entries went on to make a $445,000 prize pool, smashing the $350,000 guarantee.

The top 11 players made the money, with WCOOP League picks Jerry "perrymejsen" Odeen (tenth) and Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski (eighth) finishing in the paid places.

Jerry "Perrymejsen" Odeen Takes Down WCOOP 13-H: $320 NLHE [8-Max]

Jerry Odeen
Jerry Odeen

Jerry "Perrymejsen" Odeen was always going to be a factor in this year's WCOOP League. With 14 COOP titles coming into WCOOP — including three won during SCOOP this year — he finished sixth on the SCOOP Overall Leaderboard and was the second pick by Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot for his WCOOP League team.

Odeen has now won his seventh WCOOP title after winning WCOOP 13-H: $320 NLHE [8-Max] for $28,165.

He defeated a final table that include Alexandre "Cavalito" Mantovani, Juanki "B4NKR0LL3R" Vecino and fellow Swede — and fellow member of Team tonkaaaa — Niklas "Lena900" Astedt.

Although the result isn't enough to put Team tonkaaaa into the podium positions, it's a strong sign that the Swedes are going to be a force to contend with.
