Viva Las Vegas! The PokerStars NAPT Returns on November 4

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

The PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) is returning after a 12-year hiatus, and where better to get the show on the road than fabulous Las Vegas? November 4-12 are the dates to highlight in your diaries because that is when NAPT Las Vegas heads to Resorts World in "Sin City."

The 2023 NAPT Las Vegas takes place just one week before the most anticipated Formula 1 Grand Prix in history, which takes place through the streets of Las Vegas. PokerStars will be there, Oracle Red Bull Racing will be there, will you?

Although primarily aimed at the North American market, the NAPT is open to all, and PokerNews expects players to travel from far and wide to get involved in this historic rebirth. A $1,650 buy-in NAPT Las Vegas Main Event runs from November 6-11, and a $550 PokerStars Cup is scheduled for November 9-12, with a $5,300 High Roller attracting the biggest names between November 10-12. The full 2023 NAPT Las Vegas schedule will be released in due course.

Steve Preiss, Vice President for PokerStars North America, cannot wait for the first NAPT in 12 years to shuffle up and deal at Resorts World.

"We are delighted to announce the return of this iconic series and once again hold the NAPT for poker players in North America. We're working hard to ensure this is a spectacular series and can't wait to head to Las Vegas to get the show on the road."

Six-Way Three-Bet Pot!

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Hengzhen Zhang
Hengzhen Zhang

Action was opened under the gun to 600. He got three callers before action was on Hengzhen Zhang in the cutoff who three-bet to 3,000. The button called, the blinds folded, and then every other player that was still in the hand called.

They were off to a flop six ways in a three-bet pot.

The J43 flop landed and it checked to Zhang in the cutoff who continued for 7,000. The button called, under the gun folded and then it was on a player in early position who put in a large check-raise to 22,000.

The other players got out of the way and action was back on Zhang who thought it over and then put in a flop three-bet all in having the other players covered. The button folded and the early position player called off for his tournament life.

Early Position: 107
Hengzhen Zhang: JJ

Zhang had already hit gin in the form of top set but needed to fade some hearts. The turn brought a K and the river a Q to seal the deal and ship Zhang a monster pot and a great story if he runs deep.

Action folded to the button who opened to 1,000. The small blind folded and Doug Weider called from the big blind.

The 7 landed on the turn and Weider checked again. The button sized up and went for a bet of 4,000. Weider called again.

The 4 landed on the river and Weider checked. The button checked behind and Weider tabled Q4 for a flopped pair, turned flush draw, and rivered two pair. The button mucked and Weider dragged a sizable pot.

PokerNews Podcast: $20K Mistake, Negreanu Beats Polk, NAPT Returns, & Guest Tom Orpaz EPT Barcelona Heater

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

On the latest PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Connor Richards, and Matt Hansen catch you up to speed on what's been happening at EPT Barcelona, Daniel Negreanu defeating Doug Polk on High Stakes Duel, and the return of PokerStars' North American Poker Tour (NAPT).

They also delve into the Global Poker US Poker Open (USPO), tell you about the first winner from the the PokerStars Summer Series, cover two big hands involving pocket queens from the past week, and debate arguably the hottest topic of the week — would you pay back $20K after a player grossly misread his hand and called off on the river (which actually happened on Hustler Casino Live)?

As for a guest, Connor and Matt were at EPT Barcelona and caught up with Tom Orpaz, a high-stakes real estate entrepreneur who in his spare time can be found grinding the EPT High Roller circuit. Orpaz, who made headlines in 2020 for purchasing the most expensive apartment in the world, went on a tear at EPT Barcelona that saw him winning €25,000 No-Limit Hold'em and €50,000 Super High Roller Second Chance for two trophies and over $1 million in winnings, proving he can hold his own among the top pros. PokerNews caught up with Orpaz, who has proven to be one of the most entertaining and talkative players on typically reserved High Roller Circuit.

Kravets Flops Big

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was opened under the gun to 1,400 by Boris Kravets. He got a call in late position and then a player in the cutoff three-bet to 6,300. Kravets called and the late position player folded.

The QAJ landed on the flop and action quickly checked through to a 9 turn.

Kravets led for 2,600 and the cutoff quickly called.

Kravets then gathered the rest of his chips and went all in before the river was even dealt. The dealer announced the action while burning and turning the Q.

Although that river changed a ton on the board the cutoff still put in the chips. Despite the river bringing in the flush and pairing the board, Kravets still won with K10 after he flopped a straight and it held on such a scary runout.

Aubrey Williams
Aubrey Williams

Action was opened in early position to 1,000 by Kenny Huynh. The next player to act was Aubrey Williams who put in a three-bet to 3,300. A player in late position called and action was back on Huynh who took his time before moving all in having the other two players covered.

Williams checked her cards and ultimately put in the call. The late position player folded and they were off to a full board, heads up.

Aubrey Williams: AK
Kenny Huynh: AK

No reason to panic for either player as equities were running even...until the QJ3 flop. Huynh would still need to be the victim of running diamonds to lose the hand so things weren't grim yet. The turn brought the scare card in the 5 and the table let out an audible gasp. The dealer burned and rivered the 2 and unfortunately, Huynh was on the wrong end of a brutal runout.

Williams got the double and Huynh took a hit, but he is still very much alive in this tournament.
