Yesterday the first flight of Event #2: $1,100 No Limit Hold’em at the PokerStars Summer Series at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia kicked off and it was a huge success. Today players hoping to cash in on the $300,000 guarantee will make their way to Philadelphia to duke it out in Flight 1b.

Last night Robert Elias bagged the chip lead with a massive 776,000 stack. Will someone else best this number by the end of the day? Only time will tell. Yesterday also brought multiple notable players to Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia to battle it out. With the success of Day 1a there will likely be more crushers making their way here from the greater tristate area.

Smith Goes All In Blind on the First Hand... and Gets Called

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante
Adam Smith
Adam Smith

Action was opened under the gun by Adam "Barstool Smitty" Smith when he went all in blind on the very first hand of the tournament. It folded all the way to a player in the big blind who also had not looked at his cards and he said one thing,"lets do it," before making the call.

Both players saw their cards for the first time:

Adam Smith: K8
Big Blind: 83

The full board ran out 745AQ and with just king-high, Smith snagged a double-up and a knockout on the very first hand.

Braufman Fires Three Streets

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Action opened under the gun to 300 by Gary Braufman. He got called by the cutoff and the small blind.

The A510 flop hit the felt and Braufman bet 600 when it was checked to him. He only got a call from the small blind.

The 10 landed on the turn and Braufman fired again for 1,100. The small blind called again.

The 9 landed on the river and the small blind checked one more time. Braufman put out the final bet of 1,500 but could not get any more action as the small blind folded.

Corvino Sets the Tone

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action folded to the button who opened to 500. The small blind then three-bet to 2,500. Action was then on William Corvino in the big blind who took his time before gathering enough chips to put in a cold four-bet to the tune of 6,000.

The button thought it over and then mucked and action was back on the three-bettor in the small blind. He looked over his opponent and counted his chips but eventually landed on a fold.

Corvino dragged in a nice pot without even seeing a flop and set the tone early at his table.

Weng Pushing the Action Again

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Bin Weng

Action was opened under the gun to 500. It folded to Arshdeep Virk in the cutoff who three-bet to 1,600. Bin Weng was on the button and put in a cold four-bet to 4,500. The original raiser folded and action was back on Virk who called.

The AK7 flop landed and Virk check-called a 2,300 continuation bet from Weng.

The 7 was on the turn and Virk checked again. Weng gathered some chips and put out a bet of 5,600. Virk called.

The river landed a K and after Virk checked Weng moved all in. Virk tanked for a few moments but eventually thought better of it as he let the hand go.
