"Super Mario" Snipes Henkel

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Max Henkel
Max Henkel

Max Henkel open-shoved 650,000 from the cutoff and Cenk "Super Mario" Oguz reshoved slightly more from the button.

Max Henkel: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}
Cenk Oguz: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

There was a decent sweat for Henkel on {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{A-Hearts}, but it wasn't enough to win the hand. The German headed for the rail in 17th place.

With 16 players left, there will be a redraw for the last two tables. The new seating and chip counts follow.

Stolar Eliminated by Bornicke

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Patrick Bornicke opened to 110,000. Pavel Stolar shoved 700,000 all in and Bornicke instantly called it off.

Patrick Bornicke: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Pavel Stolar: {A-}{10-}

The {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop wasn't good for Stolar, but he picked up some extra outs on the {J-Diamonds} turn. The river bricked with the {2-Spades} and another hometown player parted from the tournament.

Mokry is No More

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Karel Mokry
Karel Mokry

Jan Stariat opened the action from under the gun. Behind him, Karel Mokry committed his stack of around 600,000 to the pot. When it was back on Stariat, he instantly called and Mokry was in a world of hurt.

Jan Stariat: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Karel Mokry: {K-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Stariat caught his countryman with the hand in the proverbial cookie jar. To make things worse, the {8-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop left him nearly drawing dead and the {9-Hearts} on the turn sealed it. Mokry received €6,803 for his 19th place finish.

Brimmers Out With Seven-Deuce

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Sonay Kehya raised to 90,000 in late position and Gerhard Brimmers defended his big blind. On the {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Brimmers simply open-shoved for 1,000,000, over four times the size of the pot!

Kehya wasn't impressed and quickly called to create a monster pot.

Gerhard Brimmers: {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Sonay Kehya: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Brimmers had flopped bottom two pair, but Kehya had a ton of outs with his overpair and flush draw. The {9-Spades} on the turn was safe for Brimmers, but the {Q-Spades} on the river gave Kehya the winner with a set of queens.

Brimmers headed to the payout desk to collect his winnings. Keyha, who started the day as the absolute short stack, now wields one of the largest stacks in the room.

Bornicke Puts Henkel to the Test

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

With the pot up to 380,000 and the board reading {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, Max Henkel bet 275,000 with 320,000 behind. Patrick Bornicke shoved all in and Henkel was faced with a tough decision.

The German eventually elected to let it go and was left with just 8 big blinds.

Awful Day Grospellier Ends in 23rd Place (€6,803)

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier started the day off as second in chips, but the Team PokerStars Pro couldn't seem to win a hand today. Down to just 349,000 in chips, Grospellier shoved all in from the button. [Removed:266] called from the small blind to put "ElkY" at risk.

Bertrand Grospellier: {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
[Removed:266]: {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Grospellier was behind and couldn't catch up on {10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. "ElkY" fell in 23rd place and had to settle for just €6,083. The cash did put Grospellier over $11 million dollars in lifetime winnings as a small consolation.
