Two Three-Bets by Troyanovskiy

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Eugene Katchalov and Tomas Soderstrom chopped a small pot with the bottom end of a four-card straight on the board before Soderstrom soon after opened to 32,000. Vladimir Troyanovskiy three-bet to 87,000 on the button and the Swede quickly got out of the way.

Then, Katchalov made it 35,000 to go and Troyanovskiy three-bet to 102,000 in the small blind. That was enough to break through any further resistance and again the pot was shipped to Troyanovskiy.

Lauck Back on Track

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Towards the end of the previous level, Jonas Lauck took down a couple pots and built his stack again nicely to get back into serious contention while Vladimir Troyanovskiy dropped some chips.

After raising to 27,000 preflop from the button, Lauck picked up a call by Tomas Soderstrom in the big blind. The {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop went check, check, and Soderstrom check-called a bet worth 27,000 on the {Q-Clubs} turn. The Swede then checked the {6-Spades} turn and Lauck took down the pot without showdown by betting 62,000.

Just as the level went up, Troyanovskiy raised to 32,000 and folded to Lauck's three-bet worth 88,000 from one seat over.

Andreas Eiler Eliminated in 5th Place (€16,150)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Andreas Eiler

Tomas Soderstrom open-shoved out of the small blind and Andreas Eiler folded in the big blind. One hand later, the action folded to Eiler and he shoved for his last 92,000. Vladimir Troyanovskiy glanced at his cards and called within less than a second.

Andreas Eiler: {J-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Vladimir Troyanovskiy: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board came {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{A-Spades}, and while a miracle was not totally out of sight, Eiler failed to improve enough and bowed out in 5th place for €16,150.

Katchalov Doubles Through Lauck

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jonas Lauck was the initial raiser on the button and he picked up two callers in the blinds including Eugene Katchalov and Tomas Soderstrom. On the {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Katchalov checked and Soderstrom bet 52,000. Lauck called and Katchalov then check-raised all in.

While Soderstrom folded, Lauck asked for a count and the shove of Katchalov was for 229,000 in total. Lauck eventually called and noticed a small but potentially vital kicker problem emerge.

Eugene Katchalov: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Jonas Lauck: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The {2-Hearts} on the turn gave Lauck a flush draw and some chop outs, but the {8-Diamonds} river was of no help and Katchalov doubled.

One for Each

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jonas Lauck raised to 25,000 and Vladimir Troyanovskiy called in the big blind. On the {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop and the {J-Diamonds} turn, no betting action took place. On the {J-Hearts} river, Troyanovskiy bet 31,000 and that won the pot.

Then, Eugene Katchalov raised to 27,000 and Troyanovskiy called in the small blind. The Russian checked the {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop and quickly folded when facing a continuation bet worth 20,000.

Last but not least, Lauck limped in from the small blind and Katchalov checked in the big blind. Lauck check-called a min-bet worth 12,000 on the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop, before the {6-Hearts} turn and {9-Hearts} river were checked through. Lauck announced an ace before showing {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. That was good enough to claim the pot.

Eiler Gets Shorter

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

A few small pots marked the start of the new level and most of them barely went past the flop.

Eugene Katchalov raised to 26,000 on the button and Andreas Eiler called in the big blind. On the {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Eiler checked and folded to a bet worth 18,000 by Katchalov.

Then, Jonas Lauck made it 26,000 to go and Vladimir Troyanovskiy defended the big blind. Both checked the {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and the {6-Clubs} turn. Troyanovskiy also checked the {K-Spades} river and then folded to a bet of 82,000 by Lauck. "Set?" he asked his table neighbor, but Lauck just shook his head and collected the chips.

Time for Another Break

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The last few hands of the level only brought limited action and Eugene Katchalov managed to take down the last one before all five remaining finalists headed into the next 15-minute break.

Katchalov raised to 22,000 and Jonas Lauck called in the big blind. On the {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Lauck check-called a bet worth 18,000 before then check-folding the {10-Spades} turn when Katchalov fired a second barrel worth 50,000.
