Yurasov Busts O'Dwyer With Straight Flush

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

There weren't many chips in the pot after Steve O'Dwyer had defended his big blind against a raise by Dmitry Yurasov from under the gun and O'Dwyer then checked through a flop of {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} with Yurasov checking behind. On the {2-Clubs} turn, O'Dwyer check-called a bet of 12,000 into 19,000 before the {7-Spades} fell on the river.

O'Dwyer bet for what looked like 60,000 with 100,000 behind and Yurasov moved all in. O'Dwyer used one time bank card and then called with {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the second nut flush. Yurasov flipped over the {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for a straight flush and claimed the lead with seven tables remaining.

Sammartino Value-Bets the Worst Hand

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Felipe Ramos
Felipe Ramos

From the blinds, Felipe Ramos three-bet to 22,500 and Dario Sammartino called on the button. Ramos bet 15,000 on the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop and 26,000 on the {A-Spades} turn. Sammartino made the call twice.

Ramos checked the {5-Clubs} river and Sammartino bet 62,000. Ramos snapped it off for the following showdown:

Felipe Ramos: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Dario Sammartino: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

Ramos' kicker played and a slightly frustrated Sammartino mucked his hand.

Simao Takes Two Hits

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Javier Gomez Zapatero raised from the cutoff and Joao Simao called out of the big blind before the flop fell {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Simao check-raised and called the shove of Gomez Zapatero to set up the following showdown.

Javier Gomez Zapatero: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Joao Simao: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}

While the {4-Spades} turn changed nothing yet, the {6-Diamonds} river did as it gave Gomez Zapatero the better two pair and the Spaniard doubled for 117,700.

Then, Ekrem Sanioglu in the cutoff and Simao on the button invested 27,000 each and the flop fell {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Sanioglu bet 22,000 and Simao called before Sanioglu instantly shoved the {2-Spades} turn. Simao folded as quickly and forfeited another pot.

Costly Misstep for Silver as Carrel Doubles

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

In a battle of the blinds, a raise to 12,000 was in front of Max Silver in the big blind. Charlie Carrel then reraised to 43,000 and Silver gave it some consideration before moving all in. Carrel snap-called and Silver immediately knew that he was in trouble of losing two third of his stack.

Charlie Carrel: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Max Silver: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Carrel doubled for massive 205,100, leaving Silver with far less than the average.

Govert Metaal Eliminated

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

It wasn't the best day for Govert Metaal at the tables, who according to himself didn't get many playable hands or spots to build a stack. Down to his last 30,000, action folded to Metaal in the small blind and he shoved. In the big blind, Daniel Dvoress looked at his cards and called instantly.

Govert Metaal: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Daniel Dvoress: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Both players paired up on the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and the river the {4-Spades}, which ended Metaal's run. The Dutchman will fly to Amsterdam shortly to play in the WPT next week.

Boeree Busts to Lehmanski

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Maxi Lehmanski made it 7,000 to go and short stack Liv Boeree moved all in for 51,300 on the button, which Lehmanski quickly called. Both players tabled pocket pairs, and it was Boeree that needed help in order to stay in the tournament.

Maxi Lehmanski: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Liv Boeree: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The board of {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} provided no reason for excitement and Boeree was sent to the rail.
