Mercier Runs Jacks Into Queens

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Julian Thomas opened the action with a raise to 10,000 and John Juanda called from one seat over in the hijack. Jason Mercier in the cutoff moved all in for 89,500 and Thomas asked for a count, then moved all in over the top. Juanda briefly flashed his cards and mucked and Mercier was at risk with the inferior pocket pair.

Julian Thomas: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Jason Mercier: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

The flush outs were also a mere threat, as only a straight flush would have helped in that case. Instead, the board came {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Mercier was also sent to the rail only minutes after Daniel Negreanu bowed out.
