Another One for Khoroshenin

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Oleksii Khoroshenin opened to 8,000 in middle position, Sergi Reixach called from the cutoff and Davidi Kitai called on the button. The {7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop got checked around. Khoroshenin bet 16,000 on the {4-Diamonds} turn and Reixach called.

On the {8-Clubs} river, Khoroshenin bet 39,000 and Reixach called it off. The Ukrainian showed {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a straight and won the hand.

Aldemir in Trouble

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Dietrich Fast raised from the cutoff and Koray Aldemir shoved from the small blind to see Fast quickly call and put himself at risk for the last 78,000.

Dietrich Fast: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Koray Aldemir: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

There were some "ohhh's" as the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, but ultimately the ace-king held up to let Fast double and leave Aldemir with very few big blinds.

Four Down the Drain

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Nick Petrangelo and Thomas Muehloecker were already gone when Koray Aldemir committed his last four big blinds from the cutoff. Mustapha Kanit had raised to 6,000 from the hijack and called the few chips more to create the following showdown:

Koray Aldemir: {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Mustapha Kanit: {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The board came {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and that left Aldemir empty-handed, since it was his second bullet, the German won't be returning for another shot at the juicy prize pool. Same also applies for Stefan Schillhabel as well, who also busted on attempt number two.

Khoroshenin Dusts Off Helppi

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Juha Helppi
Juha Helppi

In the last hand of the previous level, Sergi Reixach opened to 6,500 under the gun, Ole Schemion three-bet to 21,500 in middle position, Juha Helppi four-bet shoved 105,000 in late position and Khoroshenin came over the top behind him. Both Reixach and Schemion got out of the way.

Juha Helppi: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Oleksii Khoroshenin: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Both Helppi and Khoroshenin improved on the {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, leaving the Finn with just one out. It didn't come on the {Q-Diamonds} turn nor {10-Hearts} river and he was eliminated. Reixach and Schemion both let out a chuckle as they folded an ace.

PokerNews recently sat down with Helppi to talk about his two-decade career. Read more about it here.

The Field Continues to Grow

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

John Juanda and Thomas Muehloecker both opted to fire a second bullet while Erik Seidel and Kitson Kho registered at the start of the current level. With now 44 entries, the size of the field almost equals the attendance of the first €25,500 Single-Day High Roller two days ago.

Luca Doubles; Remains Short

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Sergi Reixach check-raised a flop of {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} from 8,000 to 22,000 and Sam Greenwood called to see the {3-Clubs} on the turn. Reixach bet 23,000 and Greenwood used one time bank extension before sending his cards into the muck.

One table over, Albert Daher that shoved twice in quick succession, but it was Ivan Luca that ended up all in and called next. Luca shoved for just 15,500 and Xiaoyang Luo called from the big blind.

Ivan Luca: {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Xiaoyang Luo: {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The board came {J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Luca doubled, but remains below 10 big blinds.

Daher Looked Up By Kruk

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Albert Daher has been pretty active today and had his stack in multiple times already. Moments ago, another shove got looked up by Christopher Kruk.

The board read {K-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Kruk had already check-called a sizable bet from Daher on the turn. On the river, Daher stuck it in for 50,000 but Kruk wasn't going anywhere with {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Daher showed {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was off for a reentry.

Steve O'Dwyer Eliminated

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

With a three-way flop of {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and 32,000 in the middle, Kitson Kho checked out of the big blind and Jean-Noel Thorel bet 9,000 from under the gun. Steve O'Dwyer raised to what appeared to be 33,000 and Kho folded. Thorel moved all in and the call of O'Dwyer followed in a heart beat.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The bottom two pair of Thorel were ahead, and the {5-Diamonds} turn and {2-Clubs} river didn't change the outcome of the hand anymore. Thorel doubled for 117,000 and O'Dwyer was left with three big blinds.

In the next hand, O'Dwyer shoved for his last 11,500 and Kho called out of the small blind.

Steve O'Dwyer: {J-Spades}{6-Spades}
Kitson Kho: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board came up blank, showing {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and O'Dwyer will have to re-enter in order to claim a portion of the prize pool.

Tsang and Thomas Double Up

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

After a raise from Stephen Chidwick from under the gun, Yan Shing Tsang shoved all in for 61,500 on the button. Chidwick tank-called with {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was way ahead against Tsang's {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The flop was {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Tsang removed his scarf. Perhaps it did the trick, as the {9-Spades} landed on the turn to give him the lead. Tsang's double-up was secured after the {2-Clubs} river and he put his scarf back on.

In the next hand. Julian Thomas limped in on the button, JC Alvarado completed and Chidwick checked. On the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, Thomas bet 5,000, Alvarado check-raised to 15,000, Chidwick folded, Thomas shoved 51,000 and Alvarado called.

Julian Thomas: {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
JC Alvarado: {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The {Q-Spades} turn and {Q-Clubs} river were meaningless and Thomas doubled.

"Ding ding ding!" the German laughed.
