Kanit No Longer in the Game

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Mustapha Kanit
Mustapha Kanit

In a blind battle, JC Alvarado and Mustapha Kanit already build up the pot to around 100,000 with action on the former. The board read {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Alvarado bet 70,000. Kanit thought for a while before moving all in and Alvarado snapped it off.

JC Alvarado: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Mustapha Kanit: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Kanit needed one of the remaining tens to survive but didn't get there on the {5-Diamonds} river. With Kanit's bustout in 17th place, the field will be redrawing for the final two tables.

Fast No More

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

In the first hand after the redraw, Dietrich Fast shoved 88,000 from the cutoff and Thomas Muehloecker called in the small blind.

Dietrich Fast: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Thomas Muehloecker: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

It wasn't meant to be for Fast as the board came {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{J-Clubs} to send him packing in 16th place.

Kurganov Takes from Juanda; Muehloecker From Chidwick

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

John Juanda defended his big blind to a raise by Igor Kurganov and the duo headed to the flop of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. "Are you trying to tell me you don't have king-jack?" Kurganov asked but received no reaction. Juanda checked and called a bet of 13,000 before the {4-Hearts} turn was checked. On the {2-Diamonds} river, Juanda bet 32,000 and Kurganov quickly called.

Juanda was caught bluffing with the {A-Spades}{7-Hearts} while Kurganov claimed the pot with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Over on the other table, Thomas Muehloecker opened to 27,000 and Stephen Chidwick called from two seats over in the hijack. Both checked through a flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Muehloecker bet the {K-Diamonds} turn for 38,000, Chidwick called. After the {Q-Diamonds} river, Muehloecker used one time bank extension before betting 72,000 and Chidwick called.

Muehloecker rolled over the {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for bottom set and that won the pot.

Kruk Doubles Big Through Muehloecker

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Christopher Kruk

Christopher Kruk raised to 25,000 from under the gun, Thomas Muehloecker three-bet to 76,000 on the button and Kruk called. On the {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, Kruk check-called 55,000 from Muehloecker.

The turn brought the {4-Diamonds} and Kruk checked. Muehloecker moved all in, effectively Kruk's remaining stack of 235,000, and the Canadian called it off to create the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Thomas Muehloecker: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Christopher Kruk: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Muehloecker was ahead and needed to dodge a nine or diamond to win. He failed to do so, as the dealer put the {2-Diamonds} on the river to send the chip lead pot over to Kruk.

Seidel Scores a Lucky Double

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In a three-way limped pot to the flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, John Juanda checked out of the small blind and Erik Seidel moved all in for 142,000 in the big blind. Oleksii Khoroshenin moved in over the top from the button and Juanda said "I guess my pair is no good" and folded a four face up.

Erik Seidel: {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Oleksii Khoroshenin: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The {K-Diamonds} turn improved Seidel to two pair, and the {5-Spades} on the river changed nothing anymore to see Seidel crack aces and double.

Kruk Up to a Million

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 30,000 from the button and picked up two callers in Stephen Chidwick out of the small blind and Christopher Kruk in the big blind. On the flop of {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, action checked to Vogelsang and he bet 32,000. Both opponents called to check through the {J-Hearts} turn, while the {K-Spades} followed on the river.

Again both Chidwick and Kruk checked in the blinds. Vogelsang bet 92,000 and that got Chidwick out of the way. Kruk however called and Vogelsang rolled over {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a busted flush draw, which Kruk had beat with {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 26,000 in middle position and Ryan Riess defended his big blind, leaving himself with just over 80,000 behind. On the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} flop, Vogelsang bet 17,000, Riess check-raised all in and Vogelsang called.

Ryan Riess: {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Christoph Vogelsang: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

Riess was looking for the wheel but no treys appeared on the {5-Hearts} turn and {8-Diamonds} river.
