Todd Peterson Pushes Scott Stewart Off on the River

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Todd Peterson raised to 1,025 from the hijack and Dennis Phillips called from the button. Scott Stewart called from the small blind, the player in the big called, and four players saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

After all had checked, the dealer burned and turned the {a-Diamonds}, which Peterson bet after two players had checked. Only Stewart called to see the {J-Clubs} river, and he ended up check-folding to a bet of 3,000 from Peterson, who chipped up to 60,000 after the hand.

Liv Boeree Gets Paid

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

The player under the gun raised to 1,200 and Liv Boeree three-bet to 2,700 from early position.

Action folded back around to the under-the-gun player and he called.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Action was checked to Boeree who bet 2,000. Her opponent check-raised to 6,000 and Boeree was put to a decision. She moved all in for 11,600 total and her opponent snap-called.

Boeree tabled {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} for the nut straight, and her opponent showed {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for two pair, kings and tens.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and the river was the {6-Clubs}, giving Boeree a full double up to just above starting stack.

Barer Getting Short

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Ami Barer was under the gun and facing a bet of 2,000 from a player in the small blind on a {2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop, which he called. Barer called a smaller bet of 1,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn, and the river was the {8-Hearts}. The small blind dropped in an even smaller bet of 500, less than the minimum. He tried to follow up by sliding enough in to put Barer all in, but he was forced to bet only the minimum since it was a string bet. Barer announced a jack as he flicked in a call but got shown {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Seymour Makes a Big Fold

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante
Richard Seymour, pictured here last year.
Richard Seymour, pictured here last year.

Richard Seymour was facing a bet for most of his stack when we got to his table, with {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs} on the felt. Vincent Moscati had bet a little over 13,000 from the cutoff, and Seymour only had around 18,000 total.

"Will you show me?" he asked Moscati.

Moscati didn't respond, and after about 30 more seconds Seymour mucked {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} face-up. Moscati obliged: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, and the players at the table complimented Seymour on his laydown.

Allan Barnes Fails to Connect

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

After a player in middle position limped and Martin Klaar three-bet to 1,500, Allan Barnes four-bet all in for 4,625 from the button. Both blinds folded, the limper got out of the way, and Klaar put in the additional 3,125 chips.

Klaar: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Barnes: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Barnes needed to connect to stay alive, but that proved easier said than done as the board ran out a dry {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Klaar chipped up to 50,000 after the hand.

Bernard Lee Sends Asher Conniff to the Rail

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

We missed the elimination of Asher Conniff at the end of last level, but we recently learned some details we thought are worth sharing.

After a player in early position raised to 1,100 and another player called, Bernard Lee three-bet to 4,025 from the hijack. Asher Conniff then four-bet all in for 24,000 from the button, the blinds folded, and the other two players in the hand got out of the way before Lee called.

Lee: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Conniff: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

It was a flip, but not after the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to give Lee a set. The {9-Diamonds} turn left Conniff drawing dead, and he headed for the exit after the {7-Spades} was run out on the river.

Lauren Monosson Shows Cada the Nuts

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

On a {7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop, 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Cada bet 3,200 from the small blind and Lauren Monosson called from middle position.

The {K-Spades} turn saw Cada bet again, this time 7,100, and Monosson popped it to 15,000. Cada thought for a bit and then laid down his hand.

"Want to see?" asked Monosson. Cada said he did and she obliged by showing the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a straight.
