William Kassouf
William Kassouf

William Kassouf, 2016 EPT Prague High Roller Champion, has entered the field and has jumped right in to the action.

Action folded around to the cutoff who raised to 675. Kassouf was on the button and called, as did the small and big blinds.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The small and big blinds checked, as did the cutoff. Kassouf reached into his stack and announced a bet of 1,950. The small blind snap-called, and the big blind and cutoff both folded.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}. The small blind checked, and Kassouf stayed silent before checking back.

The river was the {3-Clubs}. The small blind checked yet again, and Kassouf immediately turned to him and asked, "You have one pair?" His opponent didn't answer, and after a few seconds he said, "Okay, if you got it you got it" and tossed out a bet of 5,050. The small blind basically beat Kassouf into the pot, but to his disappointment Kassouf tabled {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the second nut flush. He shook his head and paid the bet off, sending the chips Kassouf's way.

Third Pair is Good for Faraz Jaka

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante
Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

Faraz Jaka lost a good chunk of his stack early on and is clawing his way back.

There was about 2,300 in the pot, on a board reading {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Jaka led out for 1,000 from the big blind. His opponent in middle position raised to 2,200.

Action was back on Jaka who thought about it for a moment and moved his 3,125 chip stack in the middle. His opponent asked, "Is that all in?" and laughed as he looked to see how much more it was for him to call. "I didn't see he had that little left", he said as he tossed in the remaining chips needed to call.

Jaka tabled {7-Spades}{9-Hearts} for third pair, while his opponent showed {q-Spades}{8-Spades} for queen-high.

Jaka's pair of sevens held as the {4-Hearts} fell on the river, giving him the double up he needed to stay alive.

Sam Chartier Claims Penultimate Hand of Level 4

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

In the second-to-last hand before being sent on their second break of the day, Sam Chartier and Pavel Veksler squared off against each other.

We picked up the action with around 7,000 in the pot and a board reading {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades} when Veksler bet 5,600 from early position and Chartier called from middle position.

When the {4-Spades} completed the board on the river, Veksler tanked for nearly two minutes before checking. Chartier checked behind.

Veksler showed the {10-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a missed flush draw, and Chartier rolled over the {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a missed flush draw of his own. However, the river four paired Chartier and he was pushed the pot.
