Giuseppe De Tomasso Leads 92 Survivors After Day 1c
The third and penultimate starting day filled the poker room of Europe's biggest card room, the King's Casino in Rozvadov, and generated a field of 333 unique players and 59 reentries. Many of those that didn't make it immediately jumped into Day 1d, which started four hours apart, while the €90+€10 King's Local Championship also saw a strong turnout with 325 entries.
After 14 levels of 30 minutes each, only 92 players bagged up for Day 1c and Italy's Giuseppe De Tomasso (534,500) won the race against table mate Tippy333 (511,000) to claim the lead. De Tomasso consistently increased his stack and also won a flip against Vasile Iuga to become a contender while Tippy333 won a big pot with kings against the ace-king suited of Erbse. Deniz Sinanmis cracked aces in a big pot and finished third with 330,000, while Slovakia's Martin Chodelka (311,500) and Johannes Hellwig (290,000) complete the top five.
Other big stacks and notables that advanced to Day 2 include Sergei Matveev (250,000), Andrej Dikos (191,500), Antonín Felfel (145,000), Thomas Zurek (132,000), and Patrick Wolff (104,000). Among those to fall were Daniela Jäger, Claudia and Roman Volf, Scott Hanna, David Taborsky, Elena Litvinyuk, Karol Radomski and Antonio Quarta.
Even before the registration of the fourth and final starting day was closed, the guaranteed prize pool of €200,000 had been eclipsed and more than 1,000 entries were recorded. The final numbers will be available as soon as the chip counts for Day 1d become available and the payouts will be released prior to the start of Day 2 tomorrow at 1 p.m. local time as well.
