Level 20 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Takashi Ogura

Eng Soon Ewe lost another small pot in a battle of the blinds with Ajitpal Singh and the next hand saw an open raise to 200,000 by Gary Thompson with the J10. Takashi Ogura flat-called with the 44 in the big blind and both players checked the 873 flop, which led them to the Q turn.

Ogura checked again and Thompson bet 170,000 into 550,000, as Ogura stuck around with his pair. The Japanese checked the 8 river, too, and Thompson mulled over his next move for a while. The Irishman checked it down and Ogura won the pot to take over the lead.

Ogura Closes the Gap to Ewe

Level 20 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Takashi Ogura

Eng Soon Ewe made it 200,000 to go with the 1010 and Takashi Ogura flat-called from one seat over on the button with A8.

The J92 flop gave Ogura the nut flush draw and he faced a bet of 250,000 by Ewe, then improved to the nuts on the 6 turn.

Ewe now bet another 600,000 and Ogura flat-called once more with the dead lock on the hand. The 3 on the river was checked by Ewe and Ogura bet 1,400,000 to get paid off by Ewe, essentially evening out the stack sizes atop the leaderboard.

Ogura Jams Into Ewe

Level 20 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Takashi Ogura made it 200,000 to go from under the gun with the AA. It folded all the way back to chip leader Eng Soon Ewe in the big blind with the 43 and he three-bet to 700,000. There was no immediate reaction by Ogura but he then jammed and Ewe asked for an exact count.

However, no call followed and Ogura boosted his stack while the first misstep of Ewe on the final table cost him a portion of the leverage over his contenders.
