Welcome to Day 1 of the 2022 Poker Dream Vietnam Super High Roller
The second-ever edition of the new Asian-based Poker Dream series is taking place at the luxury five-star Hoiana complex near Hoi An in Vietnam. From October 14 to 23, a very diverse schedule with 28 different tournaments is available and that also includes various High Roller tournaments as part of the 2022 Poker Dream Vietnam stop. With a price tag of VND 230,000,000 (approximately $9,900), the Super High Roller is the most expensive event and some of the biggest names of the Asian poker scene are expected to enter the fray.
This two-day tournament offers multiple re-entries during the registration period, which remains open until the start of Day 2 at 1pm local time on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Until then, a total of 12 levels of 40 minutes each will have already been completed in the Grand Ballroom at Hoiana Hotel & Suites.
All players start with 500,000 in chips, which is good enough for more than 300 big blinds right at the start. Two repeat levels await with blinds of 1,000-1,500 and a big blind ante of 1,500. As has been the standard for most high-stakes tournaments, a shot clock is in play throughout the entire duration until a winner has been crowned.
During the inaugural Poker Dream series in Malaysia at the Resorts World Genting in Kuala Lumpur, familiar faces such as Wai Kiat Lee, Eric Wasylenko, David Erquiaga, and Phachara Wongwichit lifted trophies for the winner shots. The UK's Chi Zhang topped a field of 79 entries in this very Super High Roller and he also made the trip to Vietnam to try and defend his title.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be providing live updates for two tournaments during the series including the Super High Roller and the Main Event, the latter of which features the highest guarantee in the history of live poker in Vietnam. Stay tuned for more of the poker action, which can also be followed on the Poker Dream Facebook page and Twitch channel as well.
