The second-ever Poker Dream live poker series will be drawing to a close today at the luxury five-star Hoiana Resort & Golf near Hoi An. As of 1pm local time, the 2022 Poker Dream Vietnam VND 25,000,000 (~ $1,019) Main Event will determine a winner while several other side events are giving poker enthusiasts from near and far an opportunity at glory.

However, all eyes will be firmly set on the final 19 contenders out of a field of 822 entries in the flagship tournament of the stop, which set an attendance record for the new aspiring live poker series. The biggest piece of the VND 17,940,150,000 (~ $722,083) prize pool will be up for grabs today in what has become the biggest prize pool in a NLHE Main Event in the history of Vietnam.

Best-positioned to lift the glory for the winner shots at the end of the night are the two local players Dinh Tien Van (3,000,000) and Tien Minh Ngo (2960,000), who are separated by a single big blind only. Third in chips is fellow Vietnamese Nam Hoang Nguyen (1,985,000) and two further locals sit in the overnight top ten. Australia's Dennis Ng (1,710,000) brings in some international flair, as does Dhaval Mudgal (1,520,000).

Seventh in chips is the last woman standing in the field, Hong Hong's Hazel Chui (1,165,000). She is right in the middle of a pack of players separated by only a handful of big blinds. That also includes Winfred Yu (1,010,000) and the arguably hottest-running player on the Asian live poker scene in the last few months, David Erquiaga of the Philippines. He finished second in the inaugural Poker Dream Malaysia Main Event and then won the WPT Prime Cambodia Main Event while boasting several other final table appearances as of lately. Erquiaga enters the final day with 1,100,000 in chips.
