Watson Eliminates Aido

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Sergio Aido was all in and at risk as Mike Watson and Ben Heath played for a side pot.

Watson checked on the flop of {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Heath bet 45,000. Watson called. Watson checked again on the {4-Diamonds} turn and Heath checked back.

Watson then led out for {5-Spades} and Heath laid it down. Watson tabled {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens and Aido showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and was eliminated.

Cheong Falls to Kulev

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Alex Kulev
Alex Kulev

Joseph Cheong ripped his stack in preflop and was called by Alex Kulev who covered.

Joseph Cheong: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Alex Kulev: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

"Good luck," Kulev told his opponent.

"Thanks, good luck to you too, but not really," Cheong joked back.

The flop of {6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Spades} was good to Cheong as it gave him the lead with his pair of queens, but the turn was not so great as it came the {a-Diamonds} to give the advantage back to Kulev. The {3-Diamonds} on the river sealed the deal for Cheong and he was eliminated from the tournament.

"Ha, I finally got you! I finally beat you in a last longer!" Tablemate Chance Kornuth delivered the good-natured needle as Cheong gathered his things.

Rabichow and Hajiyev Both Tank

Level 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Many time banks were used before the table broke in a heads-up pot between Kevin Rabichow in the big blind and Ramin Hajiyev in the hijack.

With the board reading {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and around 200,000 in the middle, Rabichow checked and Hajiyev used a time bank before betting 80,000.

Rabichow used two time banks himself before check-raising all in to send Hajiyev back into the tank as he considered calling off for around 150,000.

After using three more time banks, Hajiyev landed on a fold.

Cimbolas Falls to O'Dwyer

Level 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Steve O'Dwyer and Matas Cimbolas found themselves all-in before the flop, with Cimbolas at risk.

Matas Cimbolas: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Steve O'Dwyer: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

O'Dwyer was ahead with his pocket pair in this flip and the board of {5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts} failed to connect with Cimbolas and he was eliminated from the tournament.

With this latest pot, O'Dwyer's stack has risen to over 900,000, one of the largest in the room.

Grafton Can't Get There Against Haxton

Level 16 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton was out of position in a heads-up pot against Isaac Haxton on a board of {3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Grafton bet 40,000 and Haxton raised to 113,000. Grafton used two time banks before three-bet jamming a stack of around 250,000. Haxton quickly called with a bigger stack.

Sam Grafton: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Isaac Haxton: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Haxton was ahead with two pair but Grafton had plenty of outs with a flush draw and gutshot. The PokerStars ambassador couldn't get there as the {5-Clubs} bricked off on the river to keep Haxton ahead.

"Nice hand, Ike," Grafton said as he left the table.
