Farrell Takes From Hallaert; Zinno Doubles Up

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a three-bet pot, Kenny Hallaert checked to Niall Farrell on the button who bet 15,000 on a {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} board. Hallaert called the bet before the {9-Hearts} turn got checked around.

The {4-Hearts} came on the river and Hallaert check-folded to a 40,000 bet from Farrell.

At another table, our friends over at the PokerStars blog caught a double-up from Anthony Zinno, who had flopped a set of threes on a king-high board against a pair of jacks from Yang Zhang and held up.

Zinno Rising

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Anthony Zinno flopped a set of treys and Yang Zhang was not willing to lay down his jacks, forking over a big portion of his stack.

Shortly after, Zhang had Jonathan Roy at risk with {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} versus {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for 36,000 and the board came {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} to let Roy double with his king kicker.

Hilario Quijada
Hilario Quijada

On a flop of {3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, Philipp Kaempf bet 7,000 from the hijack. Oscar Hilario Quijada , on the button, raised to 27,000. Kaempf called.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs}. Kaempf checked. Hilario moved all in for around 130,000 and Kaempf tank-called.

Phillipp Kaempf: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Oscar Hilario Quijada: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The {j-Hearts} river completed the board and Quijada was sent to the exit.

Move at the Wrong Time

Jorge Cantos
Jorge Cantos

On a completed board of {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, Jorge Cantos bet 12,000 and Fernand Dos Santos Ferreira jammed for more than three times of that only to receive a near instant call.

Ferreira tabled {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a bluff gone wrong and Cantos showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a flush to send the Portuguese packing.

Pecheux Slowly Building

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Niall Farrell opened to 5,500 on the cutoff. Erwann Pecheux, on the button, three-bet to 17,000. Action folded back to Farrell who added the remainder to call.

The dealer spread a flop of {7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Farrell checked. Pecheux threw in a bet of 13,000, that was enough to claim the pot.

Hunichen Chops With West; Ausmus Vanishes

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Chris Hunichen got his stack of 100,000 or so in with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} against the {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} of Jonathan West and the board came {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} to ensure an unlikely split pot.

West then took on Jimmy Guerrero a few minutes later and jammed the {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} turn for 137,000. Guerrero tanked for some time, the clock was called and he folded.

One table over, Jeremy Ausmus had to end a massage earlier than he'd hoped for, as his {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts} could not beat the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} of JC Alvarado on a board of {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.
