Benjamin "Spraggy" Spragg: "To Play a $25k Live Was Huge For Me!"

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Benjamin Spragg
Benjamin Spragg

Benjamin "Spraggy" Spragg might be wearing the PokerStars Team Pro Online patch, but don't make the mistake of thinking he's feeling right at home in a tournament with a buy-in of $25,000.

Part of Team Online because of his popular Twitch stream, Spragg plays an average buy-in of $30 online. So to all of a sudden take a seat in a $25,000 High Roller was quite the change of pace for the amicable Brit.

He made it into the money in his biggest buy-in ever, eventually exiting in 140th place for $35,000. We talked to the Amicable Brit right after he busted. Read the interview on the PokerNews front page.

Burkhart Uses One Time, Doubles

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jacqueline Burkhart
Jacqueline Burkhart

Jacqueline Burkhart shove for 325,000 and Ariel Celestino put her at risk from the small blind.

Jacqueline Burkhart: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Ariel Celestino: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

"Wait, wait, wait, I have to put my backpack on," she said before the flop was dealt. She added that she was using her one time.

Sure enough, the flop came {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. The {8-Hearts} and {10-Hearts} kept her best and she collected a double for most of Celestino's stack.

"See, the backpack trick worked," she declared.

Two Bustouts and a Double

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Athanasios Polychonopoulos
Athanasios Polychonopoulos

The board was all but rushed away and Athanasios Polychronopoulos shook hands with Jussi Nevanlinna after he had just been eliminated by the Finn. Polychronopoulos had jammed for 290,000 with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and lost the flip against the pocket tens of Nevanlinna.

Right after one table over, Luigi Knoppers had raised to 55,000 and Andrey Kotelnikov three-bet to 150,000. Knoppers moved all in and Kotelnikov called it off for around 500,000 after verifying that Polychronopoulos had just busted.

Andrey Kotelnikov: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Luigi Knoppers: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {10-Diamonds} appeared right in the window and the rest of the board came {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs} to send the Russian to the rail.

Back over to the other table, Andrei Kurov shoved for 425,000 on the button and Sosia Jiang eventually made the call in the big blind.

Andrei Kurov: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Sosia Jiang: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Kurov secured the double by the turn of a board {J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and cut Jiang's stack nearly in half.

Jattin Finds Call Button, Busts Hinkle in Massive Pot

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Farid Jattin
Farid Jattin

With about 270,000 in the pot, Farid Jattin had 140,000 in front of him in the big blind. The board read {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Jattin was considering an all-in shove from small blind Blair Hinkle. Jattin used two time extensions and called for around 800,000.

Blair Hinkle: {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Farid Jattin: {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Both had pairs and straight draws but Hinkle was the one in need of improvement. The river was the {a-Hearts} and Hinkle shook Jattin's hand and wished everyone good luck. Jattin dragged one of the biggest pots yet and rocketed past the 3 million mark.

Benelli Busts to Rivera

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In a battle of Platinum Pass winners, Andrea Benelli got his last 230,000 or so in with the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and Marc Rivera had him dominated with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

Benelli picked up some outs on the {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, however, the {9-Hearts} turn and {J-Spades} river were both blanks to end the run of Benelli.

Baumstein Takes One Postflop

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

After an open to 55,000 and two calls, Scott Baumstein made it 225,000 in the big blind. The opener mucked but flatters in the cutoff and small blind called. Julien Martini checked the {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop and Baumstein bet 335,000. The cutoff mucked after some thought. Martini took some time to think before following suit.

Koonce Coolers Dirksen for Piles

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

We didn't see exactly how things went down, but Jason Koonce was doubling through Dustin Dirksen with the cards on their backs and {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} on the felt. The players had played the pot from the first two positions, Dirksen having turned a straight with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Koonce having hit the nuts with {k-Spades}{q-Spades}. Dirksen sent over a double for all but 130,000.

"That was unlucky," someone said.

"Yeah, it was, but I got lucky earlier," Dirksen said. "I mean, I didn't have to three-bet."

The Eliminations Keep Pouring In

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Adrian Echave
Adrian Echave

Within a matter of five minutes, more than half a dozen players were eliminated and the field was cut down at an alarming pace. Among those to bust were Patrick "IrEgption" Tardif, Bryan Piccioli, Ajay Chabra and Ryan Riess.

Tardif faced the raise to 50,000 by Adrian Echave Samu in the hijack and the shove of Damien Le Goff in the cutoff for 100,000. Tardif reshoved for 320,000 and the Spaniard snap-called.

Damien Le Goff: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Patrick Tardif: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Adrian Echave Samu: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The board of {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} ensured a triple up for Le Goff, Tardif was no more.

Andrii Grynechko then lost a flip with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} versus {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} as the board of {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} provided no help.
