Martini Vaults to the Top with the Elimination of Ruzicka

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Julien Martini
Julien Martini

It was blind versus blind with the board reading {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Vojtech Ruzicka checked from the small blind and Julien Martini bet 110,000 into around 200,000 from the big blind. Ruzicka used up one of his time extensions before announcing all in for 330,000. Martini snapped him off and the cards were tabled.

Julien Martini: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Ruzicka was already drawing dead to Martini's top two pair as he stood up from his chair. The insignificant {4-Spades} completed the board and Martini collected the chips to climb over 2,000,000.

McDermott Takes a Rough Beat

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Sven McDermott raised it up from the cutoff and Talal Shakerchi jammed the button for 455,000, which McDermott called.

Talal Shakerchi: {K-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Sven McDermott: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

On the board of {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, the pocket pair of the Irishman was no good and he was left with a miracle ahead, down to a single big blind.

Ramdin Loses Flip to Montes

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

A button raise by Jose Montes was followed by the three-bet shove of Victor Ramdin, who was at risk for around 360,000 in the small blind. Montes called and it was a classic flip for Ramdin's tournament life.

Victor Ramdin: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Jose Montes: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Ramdin headed to the payout desk. Also on the rail: Jack Salter.

McDermott Back In It

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Sven McDermott more than doubled two times and then got it in for 195,000 against none other than Talal Shakerchi.

McDermott had the best of it preflop with {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} versus {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, and both players made a full house on the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} board.

Montes Crippled, Busted After All-In Bluff Fails

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

At the previous level, Florian Duta opened under the gun for 40,000 and Jose Montes made it 125,000 in the next seat. Action folded back to Duta and he called. The flop came {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Duta check-called 90,000. He check-called another 180,000 on the {k-Hearts} turn and the {q-Spades} completed the board. Duta checked and Montes needed little time before telling the dealer he was all in.

It was 655,000 effective and Duta tanked long enough to use a time extension before placing a chip in the middle. Montes turned over {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Duta had flopped a set with {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Montes busted out the next hand when he jammed {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} under the gun and ran into Kristen Bicknell's kings. He flopped an open-ender but didn't get there.

De Silva Runs Out of Chips

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Upeshka Desilva
Upeshka Desilva

Upeshka De Silva opened to 45,000 from early position and was called by three players before the action was on Martins Adeniya in the big blind. Adeniya had a perfect opportunity for a squeeze play and he bumped it up to 325,000. De Silva nodded in approval before moving all in for just less than the raise. The remaining players all folded and the cards were on their backs.

Martins Adeniya: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Upeshka De Silva: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Adeniya woke up with a monster in the big blind and the two players were flipping. The flop came {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} to give Adeniya the lead with a pair of aces. The {10-Diamonds} and {2-Clubs} run out was no help to De Silva as he was eliminated.
