Sinclair Steals One

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

There were about 38,000 chips already in the middle and the board read {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{Q-Spades} when we got to the table. Jack Sinclair checked from early position and his lone opponent checked behind from the hijack.

The {4-Clubs} fell on the river and Sinclair shoved, putting his opponent to a decision for his approximately 50,000-chip stack. He folded and Sinclair showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} with a grin as he took the pot.

The Fire and the Furey

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Action folded around where Maksim Kriuchkov shoved all in for 60,100 from middle position. On the button, Charles Furey dropped into the tank. He thought for nearly a minute before putting in the chips to call. Everyone else folded so the two went to a showdown.

Furey: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Kriuchkov: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} which kept Furey in the lead the whole way and allowed him to take down the decent sized pot to push over 300,000 chips. Kriuchov however was sent to the rail.

Harrison Gimbel
Harrison Gimbel

Action folded around to Joao Simao on the button and he raised to 5,100. Harrison Gimbel called from the big blind.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Gimbel checked. Simao bet 3,600 and Gimbel called.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and both players checked.

The {A-Hearts} fell on the river and Gimbel checked. Simao bet 7,200, Gimbel called, and Simao shook his head as he flashed {J-}{8-} with no heart. Gimbel showed {K-Spades}{2-Clubs} and took the pot with flopped trip deuces.

Mateos Wins a Heavyweight Bout

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

A couple of the high stakes tournament regulars, Adrian Mateos and Koray Aldemir, have been sitting across from each other at the same table since the start of Day 2. Eventually, they were going to get involved in a pot together and they waited until the last level of the night.

Mateos opened to 5,200 from early position and Aldemir called on the button. The dealer spread the flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Mateos led out for 7,500. Aldemir stuck around to see the {10-Clubs} fall on the turn.

Mateos fired out another bet of 19,200 and Aldemir still called. The {8-Clubs} on the river completed the board and Mateos cautiously checked. Aldemir quickly checked behind and Mateos turned over {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Aldemir slid his cards to the muck and the pot was sent to Mateos.

Margets Wins Without Showdown

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

There were about 17,000 chips in the pot and the board read {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} when we got to the table. Leo Margets was in the big blind and had committed 11,400 on the river. The player in the small blind was contemplating his decision, but after some time in the tank, he ultimately folded.

As Margets took the pot, another player who had briefly stepped away returned to the table and asked the small blind if he'd called. When he shook his head, the third player commented, "I was going to call with ace high."
