Little Joe

Pedro Cuervo Quinche was all in and at risk with {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} on a flop of {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, and Ronald James had him at risk with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. It was all over when the {5-Hearts} turned, giving Quinche a full house, and a meaningless {10-Spades} completed the board.

Quinche doubled to 530,000 chips, while James slipped to 370,000.

Mortensen Doubles Through Roy

Jonathan Roy opened to 16,000 from the cutoff and Carlos Mortensen three-bet all in from the button for 161,000. Action folded back to Roy who called after a few moments.

Roy tabled {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, racing with Mortensen's {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The flop was all Mortensen, though, as it came down {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. He sealed it on the {Q-Hearts} turn, making the {Q-Spades} river meaningless.

Anderson Busts

After a preflop raising war, Calvin Anderson was all in and at risk for around 330,000 with {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Jerry Wong had him covered holding {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, and took the lead when the flop fell {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

Wong held as the turn and river came {5-Clubs}, {4-Spades} respectively, eliminating Anderson from the tournament. The Canadian now has around 725,000 chips.

Crowe Adds Some

Andrey Shatilov opened to 12,000 from the hijack seat, Owen Crowe called on the button, and the dealer fanned {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Shatilov continued for 16,000, and Crowe called.

The turn was the {j-Spades}, and Shatilov slowed down, checking to Crowe who fired 34,000. Shatilov called.

The {5-Hearts} completed the board, and Shatilov checked again. Crowe tossed out 72,000, and the Russian tank-folded.

Crowe climbed up to 595,000 chips after the hand, while Shatilov sunk down to 575,000.

Sylvia Falls To A Two Outer On The River

Jesse Sylvia
Jesse Sylvia

After George Lind III had opened for 10,000 from early position and Gleb Tremzin called from the hijack, 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up Jesse Sylvia moved all in for 124,000 from the small blind. Lind quickly got out of the way and Tremzin tank-called.

Tremzin: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Sylvia: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

"You got the right person to call," Lind said after seeing the hands. "I folded {A-}{J-}." Indeed, Sylvia had his opponent dominated and actually stayed ahead through the flop and turn. Tremzin seemed resigned to his fate knowing the chances of him hitting one of the two remaining sevens was slim, but wouldn’t you know it, a {7-} spiked down to eliminated a stunned Sylvia. “It happens,” Sylvia said after Tremzin walked around the tables to shake his hand.
