Among those to bust before the dinner were Vyacheslav Goryachev, Konstantin Generalov and Vladimir Geshkenbein.
The latter was in fact the last player to join the rail before everyone headed out of the tournament area and Maxim Babko confirmed what had happened. According to the Canadian, who also holds a Russian passport, there was a raise to 350,000 and Babko three-bet to 825,000. Geshkenbein four-bet to two million in the big blind, forcing out the initial raiser, while Babko immediately pushed for effectively 7.2 million and an almost even stack.
Geshkenbein called it off with pocket eights and Babko had ace-king, spiking not just one but two aces on the flop to eliminate Geshkenbein.
