Zifeng Zhang Eliminated in 12th Place (₩16,595,000)

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Zifeng Zhang
Zifeng Zhang

Zifeng Zhang has become the second player to bust in the money as he departed moments after Ye Wang on the other table. He was all in before the flop and was called by Zhiqiang Qian.

Zifeng Zhang: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Zhiqiang Qian: {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop gave both players a pair and Qian turned trips when the {10-Diamonds} followed up next. A blank {q-Diamonds} river failed to improve Zhang and he had to settle for 12th place and ₩16,595,000.

Ben Lai Bubbles ₩10,000,000 Super High Roller

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Ben Lai
Ben Lai

Ben Lai raised and Zhiqiang Qian three-bet to 400,000 out of the blinds. Lai jammed for just shy of a million and Qian called.

Ben Lai: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Zhiqiang Qian: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The heartbreak for pocket aces on the table continued as the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to give Qian a four-card flush. Lai had come back from a single T-5,000 chip only to bubble the tournament in most dramatic fashion.

Wu Takes Over the Lead

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Zifeng Zhang raised to 100,000 and was called by Shenming Yin in the small blind and Yake Wu in the big blind.

On the {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, Wu was the only one to check-call a bet of 75,000 by Zhang and the {7-Spades} turn was checked. Wu bet the {2-Hearts} river for 200,000 and Zhang reluctantly called.

Wu turned over the {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for two pair and won the pot.

Thanarattrakul Busts and Wu Doubles in Dramatic Fashion

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Kannapong Thanarattrakul
Kannapong Thanarattrakul

Jun Obara raised to 85,000 and Kannapong Thanarattrakul moved all in for 580,000. Yake Wu went all in over the top and Obara snap-called. Fei Xiong had raised over on the other table and faced a shove, hence the showdown did not proceed yet as it would be the possible money bubble. Xiong used one time bank and folded, the cards were then turned over on table one.

Kannapong Thanarattrakul: {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Yake Wu: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Jun Obara: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

The {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop brought no upset yet while Wu picked up a gutshot on the {k-Spades} turn. The rail exploded when the {j-Hearts} fell on the river as Wu hit a straight and survived the bubble. Thanarattrakul was eliminated and Wu doubled for 1,290,000 through Obara.

Siow Folds to Hong; Lai Doubles

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ben Lai was all-in for 190,000 with the {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} against the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of Kannapong Thanarattrakul and the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board gave Lai a full house.

Over on the other table, Graeme Siow was involved in a pot with Nan Hong and had one third of his stack invested to the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} river. He checked and Hong used one time bank before leading 280,000, Siow folded.
