Mizrachi in action

Eric "basebaldy" Baldwin limped on the button and Robert MIzrachi completed from the small blind. Chase Steely checked in the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {4-Hearts} and action checked to Baldwin. He fired 48,000 and Mizrachi was the only caller.

The turn added the {7-Hearts} to the board and both players checked. The river was the {6-Clubs} and Mizrachi bet 50,000. Baldwin raised to 165,000 and Mizrachi went into the tank. Eventually, he made the call, and it proved to be the right decision. Mizrachi tabled {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks to beat Baldwin's {4-Spades} {3-Spades}.

Mizrachi is now back up to 1.88 million with Baldwin slipping further to 1.99 million.

Steely jumps up the leaderboard with that pot
Robert Mizrachi opened with a raise to 50,000 and Chase Steely called in position. The two players took a flop of {Q-Clubs} {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Mizrachi fired 76,000. Steely made the call.

The {A-Hearts} landed on the turn and Mizrachi checked. Steely fired 176,000 into the pot. Mizrachi made the call.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Mizrachi checked right away. Steely announced a bet of 380,000 and slid the chips out into the middle. Mizrachi studied Steely for a few moments and then made the call.

Steely tabled {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} to scoop the pot after Mizrachi just mucked his hand. Mizrachi dropped to 1.53 million and Steely jumped to 1.85 million.

Hall Picking Up Chips

Brandon Hall just picked up two big pot preflop to move up to 1.16 million. On the first hand, Hall opened to 50,000 and was raised by Robert Mizrachi to 140,000. Hall then four-bet to 295,000 and Mizrachi folded.

On the very next hand, Hall opened for 50,000 again. This time, it was Eric "basebaldy" Baldwin that three-bet him, making it 132,000. Hall stuck in another reraise and Baldwin insta-mucked.

Carry On

The players were treated to a bit of an extended break this time around as their tournament director was in no hurry to resume play. With his dress clothes beginning to show evidence of the sweltering Aruba humidity, Matt Savage stripped down to his swimming trunks and splashed into the pool. He's just now gotten re-dressed into the appropriate tournament-directing outfit, and play has resumed.

Eric Baldwin - 2,380,000
Robert Mizrachi - 2,314,000
Chase Steely - 1,120,000
Brandon Hall - 865,000
Jose Santos - 340,000

Baldwin Drops a Big Pot to Hall

Brandon Hall
Brandon Hall
Eric "basebaldy" Baldwin raised to 40,000 and both Chase Steely on the button and Brandon Hall in the big blind called. The flop was {K-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {3-Clubs}. Hall checked and Baldwin fired 82,000. Steely folded and then Hall made the call.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Hall checked again. Baldwin fired a bigger bet of 142,000 this time. Again, Hall made the call.

The turn brought the {3-Spades} and Hall tapped the table for another check. Baldwin tapped the table right behind him. Hall tabled {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} for a full house and Baldwin mucked.

Baldwin dropped to 2.4 million while Hall increased his stack to 925,000.

Brock Parker Eliminated in 6th Place ($66,810)

Brock Parker - 6th Place
Brock Parker - 6th Place
Under the gun, Eric Baldwin made it 40,000 to play, and the table once again passed around to the big blind. Brock Parker announced a re-raise, and he put out 125,000 chips. Baldwin then four-bet it up to 302,000 before Parker moved all in for a total of 1,103,000. Baldwin asked for a count as he debated his options.

"I'm probably gonna call," he said. "No slowroll. Just a big spot." When the stack was counted down, Baldwin made the call to put Parker at risk while putting the biggest pot of the tournament up for grabs.

Showdown
Baldwin: {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}
Parker: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

The two men smiled, trying to ease the tension of a huge coinflip. "You gonna cooler me again?" asked Baldwin, referring to an eerily similar hand that occurred earlier between the two of them.

The dealer ran out the board: {2-Spades} {2-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {10-Spades}. Baldwin's queens hold up to ship an enormous pot and send Brock Parker off to the payout desk. He'll pick up a check for more than $65,000, but it looks to be of little consolation as Parker paces slowly away with his head down.

Parker Jabs Baldwin

Eric Baldwin raised to 40,000 before the flop, and he found action from Brock Parker in the big blind. With heads-up action, the flop came down {J-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Parker checked, and he would call a continuation bet of 56,000.

The turn was the {J-Spades}, and both players check-checked this time.

River: {4-Diamonds}. Parker opted to lead at the pot now, slipping out a bet of 140,000. After some debate, Baldwin returned his cards to the muck, chipping Parker up to about 1.2 million.
