All three players checked the J♠5♦2♣ flop leading to the 6♥ turn. Ferguson bet 700, Kyte called and Sitton folded.

Jeff Platt opened to 500 from under the gun before RunGood Kansas City Gold Pass Winner Eric Medved three-bet to 1,300 from the cutoff. In the big blind, Stephan Nussrallah came along and Platt called as well.
Three-ways to a K♣7♦4♣ flop, the action checked to Medved who bet 1,000 and both opponents called.
The Q♣ turn checked through to the Q♠ river which saw the action check to Medved again. He opted to overbet for 11,000. Nussrallah took a moment and folded before Platt went into the tank. After a minute of deliberation he decided to let it go.
Medved looked back at the PokerNews team and asked, "Are you going to report this?" before he tabled the 3♥ for a fearless bluff as he dragged the pot.

With two players seeing a final board of J♦K♥10♦3♣A♣ and around 15,000 in the middle, Jess Wilk checked from under the gun and Andrew Porter bet 7,500 from the button. Wilk moved all in for 19,000 and Porter went into the tank.
After a few minutes Porter, who had Wilk covered, flicked in the call. Porter had a set with J♣J♠ but Wilk had rivered a Broadway straigh twith Q♦Q♠ to double up through Porter.

Timothy Ng opened from under the gun and was called by Brad Anderson in the small blind and Los Angeles-based comedian Morgan Jay, who performed at last night's Gold Pass Welcome Party, in the big blind.
On the A♦K♥Q♦ flop, Ng continued for 600 and was called by both opponents.
The 6♠ turn checked through to the 7♦ river. Anderson led for 1,400 from the small blind. Morgan Jay quickly called from the big blind and Ng contemplated for a moment before he over-called to close the action.
Anderson revealed K♦9♦ for the nut flush while Morgan Jay showed 6♦5♦ for a lesser flush as he lost the minimum in a cooler situation.

With roughly 1,000 in the pot and a flop of 3♥6♥K♣, Tyler Patterson checked from middle position his opponent to his direct left, Jonathan Newman, bet 500.
Patterson called and then action went check-check on the 10♦ turn.
When the K♦ paired the board on the river, Patterson tossed out a bet of 3,500 and Newman hit the tank. He seemed suspicious and thought for about a minute, but ultimately he released his hand.
It was a small pot for Patterson, who has gotten off to a good start here on Day 1a with nearly double the starting stack.

Action was picked up on the K♦J♠2♣ flop in a three-bet pot between Nicholas Reese in the small blind and Maria Konnikova on the button. Reese continued for 2,500 and Konnikova put in the call.
Reese did not slow down on the 4♠ turn as he bet 5,000. Konnikova raised to 12,000 and Reese quickly announced all-in for 22,000 and Konnikova snapped it off as the slightly covering stack.
Nicholas Reese: A♥K♠
Maria Konnikova: J♥J♣
Reese was drawing dead on the irrelevant 10♣ river as Konnikova scored an early elimination with her flopped set.
"Well that was quick," bemoaned Reese as he wished his opponents good luck.
