Cho Bubbles With a Smile

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Arden Cho
Arden Cho

Hand for hand play had begun. The action was moving slow and the room was tense with the prospect of the bubble bursting at any moment. Chip leaders were looking to send the players into the money to lock-up a minimum $9,320 score.

Action folded to Arden Cho in middle position who moved all in. Current chip leader Andras Matrai was the very next player to act and rejammed having the table covered. The remaining players folded but Cho and Matrai were forced to wait on the runout as a hand was still going down at another table. Despite the high pressure, Cho was in good spirits as she gathered a few friends from the surrounding tables to watch the hand play out.

Eventually the floor gave the greenlight and the cards hit their backs.

Arden Cho: QQ
Andras Matrai: AK

The dealer laid out the 310A flop and Matrai jumped into the lead. The 5 turn and J river would not improve Cho and she would hit the rail on the stone bubble.

Always a class act, Cho wished the remaining players good luck with a smile and joked that "I'm never playing a tournament again!" as she made her exit.

Andras Matrai
Andras Matrai

Andras Matrai opened in middle position to 26,000 and got called by Jesse Lonis in the cutoff before the remaining players folded.

The Q24 flop landed and Marai continued for 12,000. Lonis called and the Q rolled off on the turn. The action quickly checked through and the 8 landed on the river.

Action checked to Lonis again but he opted to bet 42,000. Matrai didn't tank for more than a few seconds before sticking in a call.

Lonis tabled J7 for a bluff and Matrai tabled A9 for just ace-high and the win.
