River Jam Moves Boranski Moving Up The Leaderboard

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

PokerNews joined the action late on this hand but it was a giant pot respective to the current level. With 30,000 in the pot, Sergey Boranski's opponent had bet 20,000 or his remaining 35,000 chips on a board of {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} at the river.

Boranski responded by moving all in covering his opponent. It didn't take more than 30 seconds for his opponent to muck their holding, awarding the big pot Boranski's way. He now moves up into the top stacks in the room.

Nikolay Fal
Nikolay Fal

With a pot of 32,000 on the flop, Nikolay Fal was heads-up from the big blind versus the button.

The board read {2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Fal had bet 9,000, which his opponent called.

Heading to a turn of {4-Spades}, Fal wasted no time moving all in for 29,200 chips. His opponent, facing the all in pressure, folded pretty swiftly to award the pot to the Russian player.

Fal has made a name for himself on the Merit poker scene, having an incredibly eight wins on the tour, including a win in the $ 3,300 Main Event (Event #22) of the Merit Poker Tour in January of this year here in Kyrenia, North Cyprus.

Salikaev Prospers

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

With 2,000 in the middle on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, the cutoff bet 800 and was met with a raise by the button for 1,600. Yury Salikaev in middle position also raised to 4,500. The cutoff and button made the call.

The {6-Hearts} was tabled on the turn and Salikaev stepped on the gas and bet 7,500. The cutoff called, but the button folded.

The flush draw was completed on the {8-Diamonds} river and Salikaev bet 10,500. The cutoff looked anguished as they made the fold and the Russian chipped-up

Kataria Involved Again, This Time Shadmani Wins Out

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Kush Vinod Kataria
Kush Vinod Kataria

With 11,800 in the middle, Kush Kataria was heads-up from under-the-gun against the next player to act, Farhad Shadmani with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Both players had checked their option to set up a river.

With a {7-Spades} completing the board, Kataria then fired 6,000 into the pot and Shadmani quickly called.

Kataria turned over a bluff {3-}{3-}, after he was counterfeit to the river by Shadmani's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

Kataria muttered something under his breath frustration as he tossed his holding into the muck.

With a board reading {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades} and action on the hijack, he bet 15,000 into a pot of 30,000.

Action was on Kush Kataria on the button and after thinking for a little, fired his blue 5,000 chips into the middle, announcing ''all in''.

With action back on his opponent, he went deep into the tank. Presumably this hand had taken a while up to this point already, as a couple of the other players at the table were stood up or knelt on their chairs as they observed the action.

Ultimately though, Kataria's opponent chose to fold, giving the Indian player the pot. If he goes on to cash, this would be Kataria's third cash in a Merit-casino based poker tournament, after he landed a 7th place finish last year.
