Seven-High Wins Pot

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Jussi Nevanlinna raised from under the gun and Donald Rae defended his big blind. On the flop {3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Rae check-called a continuation bet worth 65,000 by Nevanlinna and the Finn was holding {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The {6-Hearts} fell on the turn and Rae bet 80,000 with {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} to enforce a fold from his opponent.

One hand later, Georgios Zisimopoulos limped the button with {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Nevanlinna shoved with jack-five off suit to enforce a fold.

An Ace is Enough

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Jussi Nevanlinna raised to 100,000 out of the small blind with the {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Kees van Brugge moved all in for 995,000 from the big blind with {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The Finn wasn't really contemplating a call and folded with both opponents having a laugh after the hand was over.

Zisimopoulos Jams

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Jussi Nevanlinna limped in from the button and Kees van Brugge called, Georgios Zisimopoulos checked in the big blind. The trio checked down the {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{A-Spades} flop and the {6-Clubs} turn before the action was checked to Nevanlinna on the {9-Spades} river. The Finn bet 75,000 with {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and van Brugge folded the best hand in {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

The next hand, Zisimopoulos jammed the small blind with {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Donald Rae folded {10-Spades}{9-Spades} out of the big blind.

Van Brugge Finds Queens

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

In the previous hand, Georgios Zisimopoulos had three-bet shoved with the {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Jussi Nevanlinna folded {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Then, Kees van Brugge shoved for 510,000 from under the gun and Zisimopoulos reshoved from one seat over to isolate successfully.

Van Brugge: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Zisimopoulos: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and the Dutchman doubled.

Clyde Tjauw Foe Eliminated in 5th Place (€70,294)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Clyde Tjauw Foe
Clyde Tjauw Foe

Clyde Tjauw Foe started the hand with a raise to 85,000 from under the gun and Jussi Nevanlinna three-bet to 200,000 from the button. Tjauw Foe four-bet to 450,000 and Nevanlinna called to see the flop of {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Tjauw Foe had exactly pot-size behind and bet 200,000 before Nevanlinna moved all in. The Dutchman called off for 985,000 in total and they turned over the cards.

Nevanlinna: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a flush draw
Tjauw Foe: {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for top pair

The dealer burned and turned the {6-Diamonds} and that improved Nevanlinna to a flush, though the Finn was not guaranteed the win yet. Another diamond would have saved Tjauw Foe, but it was not meant to be with the {A-Clubs} river filling up the board.

Kings for Rae

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Georgios Zisimopoulos raised to 90,000 with the {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and then called a three-bet to 190,000 by Donald Rae, who held the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. On the {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, Zisimopoulos checked and then called a continuation bet worth 240,000. The {Q-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Zisimopoulos check-folded to a bet worth 380,000.

After the massive cooler, Rae was one of the shortest stacks and he suddenly moved into second place again with five players left.

Makarios Avramidis Eliminated in 6th Place (€57,618)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Makarios Avramidis
Makarios Avramidis

Makarios Avramidis moved all in for his last 115,000 from the cutoff and Jussi Nevanlinna called in the big blind.

Avramidis: {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Nevanlinna: {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The kicker problem became crucial when the flop fell {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and the {7-Clubs} turn and {9-Diamonds} river filled up the board to send Avramidis to the rail in 6th place. He was eliminated by the player that was on the final table with him in 2011 as well and had to settle for a payday of €57,618.

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
