Nomula Triples Up, Bryant Out Shortly After Dinner

Level 9 : 400/800, 75 ante
Three Way Action between Jessie Bryant, Gene Bones and Shiva Nomula
Three Way Action between Jessie Bryant, Gene Bones and Shiva Nomula

Gene Bones, yes his name is Gene Bones just busted Jessie Bryant and had a hand in tripling up Shiva Nomula.

The dealer was sorting out which chips went where and Nomula sat with two queens in front of him, the sign that he was to be awarded most of the chips on the {6-}{6-}{j-}{j-}{2-} board.

Jessie Bryant was standing, trying to figure out whether Bones had him covered or not. Bryant's hand, pocket fives was face down in front of him, indicating he had lost the hand when his pocket pair got counterfeited and Bones won the side pot with ace high.

Bones indeed had Bryant covered and he headed to the rail shortly after the dinner break. Nomula, who was all in first and waiting for the other players to finish the action, was convinced he had lost the hand when Bones and Bryant got all the chips in on the paired board.

Pound Doubles Through Schmitz

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Robert Pound just doubled up after shoving the turn against Tod Schmitz.

In preflop action, Pound raised to 3,000 and got two callers. Schmitz called in position and the big blind called as well.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and the big blind checked. Pound bet 6,000, leaving a little more than 10,000 behind and Schmitz called. The big blind folded.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Pound shoved all in for his last 10,175. Schmitz thought for a second then called and showed {k-}{j-} for top pair. Pound turned over {a-}{a-} and won the hand when the river came a blank.

Yingling Down, But Not Out

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

David Yingling just doubled up a player who calls himself "The Cicero Kid."

Three players saw the flop of {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and all three checked. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Yingling led for 8,500. Immediately, almost before the Yingling put any of his chips in the pot, "kid" shoved all in and voluntarily counted out his chips.

"It's fifteen five fifty, so no one has to ask how much it is." said the Kid.

"How much is it?" someone immediately asked.

"Fifteen five fifty," the Kid repeated.

The player between the two folded and Yingling called. Yingling had pocket jacks, for an over pair.

"I got three four, don't pair the board," said the Kid.

The river did not pair the board and the Kid would double up. Yingling was left with a little more than ten big blinds with the next level starting soon.
