Petrangelo and Watson Lead the Pack
In the final hand before the break, two massive pots played out to vault Nick Petrangelo and Mike Watson into the top two spots.
Adrian Mateos raised to 17,500 in the small blind and Watson made the call out of the big blind to see the flop. Mateos continued for 12,738 and Watson just called to then do so again for 40,000 on the turn.
Mateos bet the river for 102,038 and Watson jammed for 219,857, sending his opponent deep into the tank. The Spaniard eventually called with but Watson had for nines full.
Michael Addamo was then involved in three-way action to the flop and led for 8,101 on the button. Dario Sammartino folded in the big blind and Nick Petrangelo called. On the turn, Petrangelo check-called for another 36,927 and checked the river.
Addamo emptied the clip and jammed for 136,423, which Petrangelo called without using the time bank. Addamo's had made kings and fives but it was Petrangelo that held the best hand in for aces and fives.
