Trickett Makes His Mark

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

It wasn't going to take long for Sam Trickett to get his chips moving. A 10k buy-in event must seem like a freeroll to him these days.

He tangled with Artem Metalidi and committed most of his chips on the river. The board rested as {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Trickett checked to face an 8,100 bet that he raised up to 22,000 with only three behind. Metaldi smiled and mucked after a minute's thought.

The Ukrainian asked of Tricket, "Show one?"

"No thank you," came the reply. "Sets are too good; show bluffs!" he went on.

Metaal Over-Bets the River

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Govert Metaal and Calvin Anderson were heads up on a board of {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Metaal was first to act, and he tossed out a single blue T5,000 chip into a pot of around 3,300.

Anderson tanked for nearly a minute, then tossed in a blue chip of his own. The Dutchman showed {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for a pair of kings, prompting the American, who just bubbled the unofficial final table of the EPT Berlin Main Event, to send his hand into the muck.

The turn was the {j-Clubs}, [Removed:290] led out for 3,100, and after tanked for 30 seconds or so, Shakerchi again called.

Sixes No Good for Esfandiari

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Antonio Esfandiari is down to 24,000 after pocket sixes were no good against Danilo Donnini.

Donnini opened to 325 from the hijack and Esfandiari called from the cut-off to see a {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop. Donnini continued for 400 and was called. On the {10-Spades} turn Donnini checked to Esfandiari who bet 725. Call.

Both players checked the {2-Clubs} river and Esfandiari opened {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}, losing out to the Italian's {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

There are so many tough tables today but this one still stands out. Table 34 has a ton of good players who have won millions of dollars between them.

Sam Trickett has won the most money of all and there's only one player ahead of him in the world which is Antonio Esfandiari who beat him heads up in the One Drop tournament. Trickett has almost 20 million in live career earnings and the next biggest winner is Vanessa Selbst who's on seven million.

Torelli's Aces Beat Negreanu's Queens

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The action was picked up on the turn with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} just as Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu check-called a bet from Alec Torelli. The river completed the board with the {2-Hearts}, and Negreanu checked again. Torelli fired 10,000, and Negreanu went into the tank.

In famous Negreanu fashion, he was chatting out loud during the entire time he tanked. Eventually, he made the call.

Torelli turned over the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, and Negreanu flashed the {Q-}{Q-}. "I told you I could beat jacks," said the recent World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific Main Event champion.

With that pot, Negreanu dropped to about 22,000 in chips, while Torelli moved to 45,000 or so.
