Ladouceur Check-Raise

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Gaelle Baumann made it 1,700 preflop and pick up calls from Paul Newey, a player in the small blind and big blind Team PokerStars Pro Online Marc-Andre Ladouceur.

The flop was {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Baumann continued for 3,300. Newey flicked out the call but Ladouceur was waiting in the blinds for a check-raise to 11,500. Fold, Fold and the pot was his.

Thorel the Mystery

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel was near the top of the leader board not so long ago but he has slipped back in the last part of this level. Thorel is known for taking unusual lines in hands and his unpredictability is his most dangerous weapon. He is also capable of big laydowns though when he feels he has the worst of it.

First Thorel bet 20,000 on a flop of {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Spades} and then folded to a shove from Philipp Gruissem. Thorel showed the {j-Clubs} and Gruissem turned over the {a-Hearts}.

He was soon involved in a three-way pot sitting in the big blind. The flop was {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and called a bet of 2,800 from Rocco Palumbo. The turn was the {9-Spades} and Thorel led out for 5,000. Palumbo made the call and they saw the river card {j-Hearts}. Thorel bet 10,175 and a shove from Palumbo for a total 17,700 saw Thorel fold and show {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a turned two pair. From what Palumbo indicated it was a correct fold in the end.

Mateos Leading the Way

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos is over the 200,000 mark after he knocked out Yann Dion earlier. Mateos won a huge three-bet pot again the French-Canadian when all the chips went in on the turn of a {Q-Diamonds}{J-}{3-Diamonds}{K-} board. Mateos had {A-}{10-} and Dion held {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} but missed his draw.

Dion has, of course, since rebought.

Fiip You For It

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jorryt van Hoof
Jorryt van Hoof

Sometimes there’s no need for a precise count of stacks, you just get all your chips in the middle before the flop and that is precisely what Yann Dion and Jorryt van Hoof decided to do.

It was {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for van Hoof and {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for Dion. The coin was flipped and after a board of {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} it landed Dion side up. The stacks were close but Dion just had the edge and van Hoof was booted into touch.
