Welcome to Day 1b of the PokerStars.fr EPT 11 Deauville
The second starting day of the €5,300 PokerStars.fr EPT 11 Deauville Main Event gets underway at 12 pm local time and the overall participation at the Casino Barrière de Deauville is expected to be much higher than the 199 entries of Day 1a.
Same as yesterday, it is scheduled to play eight 75-minute levels including a dinner break of 75 minutes after the end of level six. Nathan Gozlan is leading the 108 survivors thus far after accumulating 148,500 chips on Day 1a.
Several other Side Events determined their winners yesterday as well. Dutch student Tim van Leeuwen won the €300 Deauville Cup for €62,400 after emerging victorious in a field of 1,210 entries.
Anthony Apicella defeated PokerStars qualifier Felix Lambertz in the €1,100 FPS Deauville Main Event after overcoming a 1,355-strong field, good for a payday of € 197,000. Ivan "Negriin" Luca finished fourth and we will most definitely see the Argentinian back at the tables today, defending champion Sotirios Koutoupas is also due to join us for Day 1b. EPT 10 Deauville runner-up and Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov already played on Day 1a and advanced with 16,000 chips.
