Pot To Zhang

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Ji Zhang
Ji Zhang

On a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} Pawel Brzeski under the gun bet 130,000 and got called by Piotr Sowinski . The big blind Ji Zhang check-raised to 375,000 which got a fold from Brzeski but Sowinski made the call.

The turn card was the {4-Clubs} and now Zhang check-called a bet of 340,000. The river {a-Clubs} saw both players check. Zhang didn’t want to show first but he had to and his {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} was good as Sowinski mucked.

Haenraets Continues to Climb

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Bram Haenraets
Bram Haenraets

Bram Haenrates, a PokerStars qualifier who has never played live before, continues to take to tournament poker like a fish to water. He called bets of 150,000 and 340,000 on the turn and river of a {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} board with {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} against Mikkel Nielsen and the Dane could only show a missed {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

A couple of hands later and Samuel Phillips made it 100,000. Haenraets three-bet to 210,000 from he blinds and Phillips made the call. Both players checked to the river of a {5-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs} board where Haenraets bet 200,000 and picked up the pot.

How Long Will We Play Today? The Thinker, The Feel Player And The Official Give Their View

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

We're set for a long day in the Main Event today. But the question of exactly how long this day will last has some people scratching their heads.

Here the PokerStars Blog investigates different estimates. There are optimists, pessimists, realists and fantasists, and each has an opinion, some of which are reported here: http://psta.rs/1tznsDq.

Senft Double Double through Brzeski

Maximilian Senft
Maximilian Senft

In hands not that far apart Maximilian Senft moved all in for 400,000 with {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and got called by Pawel Brzeski holding {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. The final board was {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Senft had a double up.

Minutes later Senft was all in for 865,000 with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Brzeski called with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. A run out of {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} saw Brzeski sigh deeply on the flop as he was left crippled.

Mikkel Nielsen Eliminated in 19th Place (€47,400)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Mikkel Nielsen - 19th Place
Mikkel Nielsen - 19th Place

Mikkel Nielsen opened for 100,000 and was three-bet to 210,000 by Samuel Phillips. It folded back round to Nielsen who moved all in and got a call.

Neilsen had {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} but had run into the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} of Phillips.

The final board showed {3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and that was the end of the Main Event for Nielsen

Neilsen had run pretty badly for the last day and a half despite the deep run and he had some choice words about poker as he headed for the door.

Ensan in the Brain

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hossein Ensan is showing quite a few hands on the outer table. Sergei Popov opened to 100,000 and Ensan three-bet to 195,000, the Russian shoved for 1.1 million and Ensan tanked for a few minutes before folding {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} face up.

A couple hands later the action saw Ensan open to 100,000 and Mikhail Rudoy called before Samuel Phillips three-bet to 310,000 from the button. Ensan then four-bet to 665,00, Rudoy and Phillips both quickly folded. This time Ensan showed {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}...

Pawel Brzeski
Pawel Brzeski

Pawel Brzeski pushed for 580,000 from under-the-gun and his compatriot Piotr Sowinski made the call in the seat next to him, everyone else folded.

The board came {6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Brzeski doubled up to over 1.2 million - over 20 big blinds.

Gerald Karlic Eliminated in 18th Place (€47,400)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Gerald Karlic
Gerald Karlic

That Dominik Panka, eh? He has been running particularly well today and Gerald Karlic has become his latest victim.

Panka had four-bet shoved over Karlic's three-bet from the blinds and the latter quickly called.

Panka: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Karlic: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The Austrian looked good for a double up but after the board had come {2-Hearts}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} the {Q-Spades} popped up on the river to give Panka a pair. €47,400 will have to do as a consolation for Karlic.

Sowinski Doubles Up

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Pawel Brzeski opened for 100,000 and was three-bet by Piotr Sowinski to 255,000. Brzeski moved all in and got the call.

Brzeski showed {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and was probably happy to see the {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} of Sowinski. The cards fell {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Brzeski who had been on the wrong end of the dealer several times today finally got the rub of the green.
