Kitai Continues To Chip Up

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

After Yoni Izhak checked the {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Davidi Kitai bet 18,000. Izhak called, and the turn was the {9-Spades}. Izhak checked, Kitai bet 33,000, and Izhak called again.

The river was the {Q-Diamonds}, and both players checked.

Kitai showed the {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens and that beat Izhak's {A-Spades}{5-Hearts} to give the former European Poker Tour champion the pot.

On the next hand, Kitai opened from early position to 12,000. Bulgaria's Nikolay Tsanev called out of the big blind and then check-folded to a continuation bet of 18,000 on the {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Silveira Dias Shoves On Rampone

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun, Bernardo Da Silveira Dias raised to 14,000. Nick Rampone reraised to 30,000 from the hijack seat, and action folded back to Silveira Dias. He took a few moments, then reraised all in for around 200,000. Rampone folded, and Silveira Dias won the pot.

Brzeski Takes From Rampone

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

On the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, four players were in action, including chip leader Nick Rampone. First up was Andrey Shatilov, and he checked to Pawel Brzeski. Brzeski bet 29,000, Rampone called, the fourth player folded, and then Shatilov also gave it up.

With the field now cut in half, the dealer placed the {6-Spades} out on the turn. Brzeski and Rampone checked, and the {J-Spades} landed on the river. Brzeski led with a bet of 43,000, and Rampone folded.

Ahrary Dropping Down

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Nima Ahrary
Nima Ahrary

Nima Ahrary took an early lead at the start of the day but, it's not been going his way as of late.

Ahrary moved all in on the turn of an {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board for an effective 170,000, putting Gediminas Kareckas to the test. The latter called off with {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Ahrary flipped {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

The river was the {J-Clubs}, not enough for the German who only made a pair but Kareckas' straight doubled him up to almost half a million.

Dan Shak Collects Second Cash at EPT100; Eliminated in 129th

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

After making his return to super high roller events in the European Poker Tour Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller and finishing eighth for €138,600, Dan Shak has fallen here in the €5,300 Main Event, scoring a payday of €10,300.

His elimination came thanks to two hands. The first one crippled him, and the second one finished him off. On the first, Shak had opened from under the gun to 14,000. [Removed:146] called on the button, and Raymond Baker called from the big blind before the dealer spread out the {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} flop. Baker checked, and Shak bet 20,000. Guerfi called, and then Baker came along as well.

The turn was the {Q-Spades}, and Baker led with a bet of 40,000. Shak raised all in for 245,000 rather quickly, and Guerfi got out of the way with a fold. Baker shrugged and called, putting himself at risk for 237,000 total.

Shak had the {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for top pair and a flush draw. Baker had the {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for a flush.

"Just not the six of spades," said Shak, noting that the {6-Spades} would give Baker a straight flush.

The river completed the board with the {10-Diamonds}, and that kept Baker's hand in the lead. He won the pot, doubled through, and left Shak with just 8,000 in chips.

On the very next hand, Shak was forced to post 1,000 for the ante and 6,000 for the big blind, leaving himself with just 1,000 behind to start the hand. Guerfi opened to 15,000 from the cutoff seat, and everyone folded over to Shak. He wasn't about to fold, and tossed in his last 1,000 before turning up the {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Guerfi had the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to leave Shak drawing dead on the turn. He said his goodbyes and was off to the payout desk to collect his winnings. Guerfi was left on about 470,000 in chips.

Pobal Sees Dead Money

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Mikalai Pobal
Mikalai Pobal

Nikolay Tsanev opened the action for 13,000, got called by the player to his left and Davidi Kitai put in the calling chips from the cut-off. Mikalai Pobal sat quietly thinking for a while before he announced he was all in for near 185,000.

Tsanev looked perturbed. It seemed as though he liked his hand but with two players still to act he was in a tricky spot. The option he chose was to fold as did the other player. Kitai then said he might be in the mood to gamble as he put Pobal on {9-}{9-}. Kitai then folded while showing {k-}{q-} before is was whisked away by the dealer. Pobal showed him one card, the {q-Spades}.

Panka Triples With Queens

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

Vincent Rubianes opened under the gun, and Dominik Panka in the cutoff shoved all in for his remaining 125,000 chips. Egidijus Dovidaitis cold called from the small blind, and wasn't sure what to do after Rubianes over shoved. After some thinking, the Lithuanian folded, claiming to lay down ace-king.

Vincent Rubianes: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Dominik Panka: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} was very good for Panka, and the {9-Spades} on the turn made his double up official. The {9-Hearts} did nothing but give Rubianes an irrelevant lower full house.
