EPT Paris 2025 Canceled Amid Regulatory Challenges

Level 32 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
EPT Paris
EPT Paris

PokerStars and Club Barrière have announced the cancellation of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris 2025, which was originally scheduled to run from February 12-23 at Le Palais des Congrès.

The cancellation is part of a broader uncertainty surrounding Paris’s gaming landscape. Recent developments indicate that gaming clubs in the city, which have operated under strict regulations since 2019, are at risk of closure by the end of the year.

The announcement comes as a shock, particularly after the news comes exactly a month since the unveiling of the 2025 EPT schedule.

EPT Paris was slated to kick off the tour's new season, returning for its third year after record-breaking attendance in 2024.

Park With a Crucial Double-Up

Jaehyung Park

Pedro Marques shoved from the small blind with just Jaehyung Park to get through in the big blind. Park looked at his cards and made the call.

Jaehyung Park: A3 All in
Pedro Marques: 109

Park just needed ace-high to hold to double-up through Marques. The board ran out 64K23, which kept Park ahead the whole time, meaning he closed the gap significantly on Marques and slightly on Runcan.

Runcan's Eights Good at Showdown

Level 32 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Pedro Marques made it 400,000 from the button with Q10 and Paul Runcan called on the button holding 108.

They saw a flop of 358 where Runcan led out for 200,000 with his pair of eights, and Marques called.

A K on the turn drew a check out of Runcan, then Marques reached for chips and fired 750,000. Runcan wasn't going anywhere, and called.

The 2 dropped on the river and both checked it down, with Runcan's pair of eights being good.
