Grafton Pressures Plausinaitis

Level 9 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With two players seeing a board reading A95 and 53,000 in the middle, Sam Grafton bet 16,000 from the small blind and Paulius Plausinaitis called from the big blind.

Grafton fired again on the 4 turn, this time sizing up with an 80,000 bet. Plausinaitis made the call.

On the J river Grafton moved all in for 225,000 and this time it was enough to force a fold from the Day 1 chip leader.

Ding Catches Ponakovs

Level 9 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Biao Ding opened to 13,000 from middle position before Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet to 33,000 from the cutoff.

The action folded back to Ding, who let his shot clock run out before putting in a four-bet to 75,000. Ponakovs, on the other hand, did not have to think long before making his decision and instantly mucked his cards, forfeiting the pot to Ding.

New Entries Go to War

Level 9 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Sam Grafton and Sam Greenwood had both bought in at the start of the day and were battling over a pot worth 37,000 chips. The flop was already dealt and read 358. Grafton checked out of the big blind before Greenwood bet out 30,000 on the button. Grafton made the call and the subsequent 9 turn was checked through.

On the 4 river, Grafton thought for a while before putting out a bet of 60,000. Greenwood mulled it over but eventually called. Grafton then showed 87 for a pair of eight and raked in the pot once Greenwood's cards were sent into the muck.

The action continues today at the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Cyprus with Day 2 of the $50,000 EPT Super High Roller at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa.

Paulius Plausinaitis of Lithuania bagged the chip lead last night, finishing with 1,193,000, worth just under 200 big blinds to start the day. He is most closely followed by previous EPT champion Ognyan Dimov of Bulgaria who bagged 1,080,000.
