Morten Hvam raised to 500,000 on the button with the {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Marcelo Simoes three-bet to 1,300,000 with the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for Hvam to call as he invested more than a quarter of his remaining stack.

The {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop gave the Dane a gutshot and Simoes bet 1,000,000. Hvam had 3,400,000 behind and he eventually got them in to pick up a call by Simoes.

As both players gathered near their rails, the {5-Spades} gave some outs to a potential split pot. Nothing changed on the {j-Diamonds} river either but there were a few seconds of silence before the Brazilian rail exploded.

After several "vamouuuuu" shouts, Simoes was lifted into the air by the €1,100 FPS Main Event winner Lucas Scafini and the first Brazilian winner of an EPT Main Event was crowned.

Hvam's tournament run ended in second place and he secured a payday of €564,640 but missed out on another victory for Denmark in more than a decade.

A recap of today's action is to follow.
