Pingray Catches a Fortunate River Against Hvam

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Hugo Pingray opened to 120,000 from under the gun with the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Morten Hvam three-bet to 350,000 on the button with the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Pingray considered his options during the 30-second shot clock and called to see a flop of {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}, which gave both players the top pair.

Pingray checked and Hvam continued for 175,000 to pick up a call by his opponent.

The {10-Clubs} followed on the turn and Pingray checked once more. Hvam bet 550,000 for nearly half the pot and Pingray stuck around to peel the {q-Clubs} river. Once Pingray checked, Hvam checked back to get shown the bad news.
