Saout Flops Two Pair

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Antoine Saout opened to 175,000 from the hijack with the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}. Istvan Pilhofer with the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} three-bet to 435,000 from the cutoff. Saout made the call to head to a flop.

The board came out {q-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, giving Saout two pair. Saout checked, and Pilhofer continued for 180,000 with his gutshot. Saout thought for a while before making the call.

To the turn, the dealer put out the {4-Hearts}, giving Pilhofer the flush draw to go along with his gutshot. Both players checked.

The river was the {8-Clubs}, missing all of Pilhofer's outs. Saout moved all in for 1,125,000, prompting a quick fold from Pilhofer.

After the hand was over, the last eight players headed into a scheduled 20-minute break.

Jordan Saccucci opened to 175,000 from early position. Luigi D'Alterio made the call in the hijack. Paul-Adrian Covaciu moved all in for 1,375,000 in the cutoff.

Back on Saccucci, he also moved all in for 10,125,000. D'Alterio went into the tank with about 5,900,000 total in his stack. After tanking for about a minute, he folded his cards, the stream never revealing what the second card was, though he eventually said he folded ace-king.

Jordan Saccucci: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Paul-Adrian Covaciu: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Covaciu and Saccucci headed to a runout with the Covaciu at risk. The board came out {6-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs}, a terrible flop for Covaciu. The {4-Hearts} turn offered no help, Covaciu left with two outs going to the river. That final card was the {k-Diamonds}, ending Covaciu's tournament as the first final table elimination.
